Liu Sanzi is an eight-year-old boy from a village in Hunan Province. eight-year-old为合成形容词,一般要用连字符连接起来,而且year也不要用复数形式。 an 90-page book一本90页的书 a three-room apartment三室的套房2. Now they can go to school with the help of Project Hope. 在希望工程的帮助下,他们现在可以上
20、学了。 With the help of the dictionary, we can read English newspapers.借助于词典,我们可以读英文报纸了。 They worked out the maths problem with the help of the teacher. 在老师的帮助下,他们算出了那道数学题。3. He stopped going to school a few years ago.他几年前不上学了。 注意 :stop doing sth. / stop to do sth. 的用法区别: stop doing sth把正在做的事情停下来;stop
21、to do sth. 停下来去做另一件事情。He stopped to have a cup of tea.他停下来去喝杯茶。4Because of Project Hope, thousands of children have better lives.因为有了希望工程,成千上万的孩子们过上了更好的生活。because of表示“因为”,后面接名词或名词短语。如:He didnt go to the park because of the rain.因为下雨,他没去公园。注意:介词短语because of后面需接名词或名词短语,而使用连词 because 时,后面就要接一个从句。如: He
