3、As a member of the translation team, I was assigned for the translation task and The Chapter 8 is chosen as a case for my thesis. It has 15 chapters and about 100,000 English words. The Chapter 8 in the book is a Comprehensive Geological Study of F-18 Well Cores, Yadavaran Field. The content of the

4、book is enclosed in the proposal as Appendix. Therefore, before starting to translate the Chapter 8, the author should have a c

25、omprehensive acknowledge of the geologic condition in Iran through the materials given by the engineers or information from the Internet. 2.Skopos theory emphasize greatly on the purpose and function of translation. The translation practice made me understand that the Skopos or purpose is actually a

26、 multifaceted and integrated one. Requirements of the commissioner, the text recipients expectations, focus of the functions of the text and other factors will affect the translation purpose, which is not only the guidance of translation process, but also the translation criteria. In accordance, the

27、re is no-size-fits-all translation method, translation method varies according to different needs. Feasibility AnalysisPart Four Feasibility Analysis1. As a post-graduate of MTI, the author has learned many translation theories and relevant knowledge, which are the basis of translation work.2. Befor

28、e the author start the translation, a lot of research and analysis of the source text will be done. And the related professional terms have already been provided. It can save time and assure the accuracy of the translation.3. The library of CUG is full of all kinds of studying resource. There are also some useful linguistic corpus and some other electrical resource such as the CNKI website, the Word Smith software. It is convenient for the author to get abundant electrical resource from the library.4. In post-graduate period, the author has done many translation tasks, which are translating
