8、 begin, i need you to ask yourself a question: why do i join model un? the answer for myself is that i wanted to wear a suit and high heels and gracefully discuss global issues（争端） like a un official, or an adult. and when i asked my friend the same question, his answer was even more simple: i want

9、to study abroad. i was not shocked because that is one of most reasonable answers. in some conferences i attended, i saw delegates attend the meeting for showing off the eloquence（口才）, for decent（相当好的） appearance, for the roses, and for the joy after conference. there are absolutely some seemingly d

10、eeper reasons: more friends, more knowledge, and more experience in speech. however, in this way, people quarrel rather than debate, provoke（引发） conflicts（矛盾） rather than settle confrontations（解决冲突）, play dirty（耍诈） like an adult rather than simply communicate. perhaps, you may consider that as the w

11、ay the world works at least as the world we see. but i do not think so. the world may be filled with competitions and deceptions（欺诈） but everything happens for a reason. people do not do tricks for their own sake especially on global issues. actually we do not have to imitate adults. we can just be

12、ourselves, to create, to cooperate, to settle. amr provides the chance for all of you to sit peacefully, share the situations and experiences and settle the problems.then here comes the second question: what can i obtain（获得） in model un or in amr? i bet a number of peoples answers will be the same w

13、ith the first answer or perhaps, we can add confidence. certainly, i got the chance to wear my suit and high heels and gave speeches in the front of the huge meeting room. however, i learned acquired（后天获得的） more than that. when i was reading the background guide, i saw what happened on the other sid

14、e of the world. people have no clear water to drink, enough food to eat, no medicine to cure（治疗） diseases in some regions（地区） while in other regions, large amount of resources are wasted. people get no access to modern technology while in other regions, modern technology contaminates（污染） the environ

15、ment and endangers（使危险） human life. women and children are trafficked to other countries and are abused（滥用） physically and mentally. people in the war live in desperate（悲观失望的） and those survived are left trauma（创伤） all their life. sometimes i thought if i did not wear that suit, i would never spend

43、uch a platform of communication. (1) in our conference, we suggest delegates sign up for the presentation to acquire the experience that is hardly to obtain in future conferences. (2) delegates sign up for nvp voluntarily but the dais will advise that some countries with emblematical events or polic

44、ies make presentations. (3) the presentation will be arranged at any time of the conference. for example, when delegates find the topic of a mc relates to his or her presentation, the delegate can raise platcard with other delegates and will be placed in the last one to speak( give the presentation)

45、 in this motion. the delegate can also go to the dais to ask for giving a presentation in the beginning of a session or after a umc. (3) here are tips for you to prepare for the nvp: format: you can either present on behalf of your own country or as a group. a. in the whole presentation, the dais wi

46、ll not make any introduction for you. you may need to organize the materials, make the connections between two items, and try your best to attract your listeners. b. if you present in a group, the members should allocate their jobs clearly and cooperate as a whole. the group need to introduce themse
