Most of them are at a low level of English, especially in vocabulary learning. The students find it very difficult to learn English words and
2、 master their usage. Whats more, they know little about word formation and nearly dont know how to get the meaning of a word according to the context. Thus, the students are expected to master the methods to learn new words through word formation and context in this class. . Analysis of Teaching Mat
3、erial:The topic of this unit is women of achievement, which is a bit familiar to the students because they have learnt a similar topic in Module 1 Unit 5 “Nelson Mandela”. The words of this unit concerns about adj.s of qualities and verbs or V-phrases of describing a great persons achievements. So t
4、he exercises are designed for students to talk about great women by using these words. Besides, this class focuses on teaching students to enlarge vocabulary by word formation and to learn new words by context. . Teaching Aims: 1. Knowledge aims: a. Ss can learn some words and expressions about a gr
5、eat persons qualities and achievements.words: modest, considerate, achievement, organization, argue, argument, entertainment, connection, observe, observation, inspire, determination, behave, behaviour, respect, support, intend,expressions: look down upon, refer to, carry on, lead a lifeb. Ss can ge
6、t to know some great women and talk about their achievements.2. Ability aims: a. Ss can learn new words through word formation and context.b.
