1、过去进行时一、定义：过去进行时主要表示过去某个时刻或某一阶段正在进行的动作；过去进行时可以用来描述一件事发生的背景：一个长动作发生的过程中（用过去进行时态），伶一个短动作发生（用一般过去时态）。二、过去进行时的不同句式过去进行时的句式肯定句主语+was/were+现在分词+其他否定句一般疑问句特殊疑问句Eg. They were expecting you the day before yesterday, but you didnt show up. _四、疑难拓展1、always 等副词与过去进行时连用 过去进行

3、时常用always, forever, continually, constantly, frequently等副词来表达说话人的赞美或厌世等情感。 Eg. I was always making the same mistakes then. He was constantly asking questions. _2、过去进行时表过去将来 过去进行时（go, come, start, stay, leave, fly等一些表示位置移动的动词的过去进行时态）可表过去将来。 Eg. He didnt say when she was coming. _3、一般过去时和过去进行时的区别 过去进行

4、时表示过去某时正在进行的动作，而一般过去式则表示一个完成的动作。也就是说，用一般过去时只是表示有过这件事，用过去时则强调动作的连续性或动作当时正在发生。 Eg. He was reading a novel this morning.上午他在看一本小说。（可能没看完） He read a novel this morning.上午他看了一本小说。（已经看完） The children were watching TV yesterday evening.昨晚孩子们整晚都在看电视。（没干别的） The children watched TV yesterday evening.昨晚孩子们看了电视

5、。（有过这件事，也可能孩子们还干过别的事）4、when和while的区别 在过去时态的时间状语从句中，如果两个动作同时发生，延续性的动作用过去进行时，非延续性的动作用一般过去时。(1) 在when 引导的从句中，主从句的谓语动词既可以是非延续性动词也可以是延续性动词，要根据情况选用一般过去时或过去进行时。Eg. When I entered the room, he was writing a letter.(2) While 引导的从句中谓语动词必须是延续性的。所在主从句动作大致持续相等时主从句一般都用进行时，但若是两个动作一长一短时，短的用一般时，长的用进行时。Eg. I was cook
