7、 reading competition every day in a given time.Step II Listening and discussionListeningAsk the students to listen to the tape for the first time to write down the three things they advise Xiaozhou. Tell the students to write down key words when listening. Listen to the tape again. Before listening,

8、 read the questions fast to find out the listening points first and then listen to the tape. If necessary they can listen to the tape again to make sure their answers are right.T: Your suggestions are excellent! Yufang and Annie are discussing with Xiaozhou, a tactile learner, the best way for him t

9、o practice reading. Listen to the tape and write down three things that Yufang and Annie advise Xiaozhou to do to improve his reading.Ss listen and write the three things. T: Listen to the tape again and answer the following questions. Read the questions first and underline the key words when readin

When listening, you can write down the key words to help you tell the answer of each question.After listening to this part, check the answers and explain some difficult points if necessary.Discussion1. For example, we should learn good techniques from those who are good at English before we begin English learning and preview what we will learn.

19、 So you will find it's easier to learn English and it's interesting to learn English. There is no royal way to learning. We are sure to meet difficulties and many failures. Don't lose heart. Stop to see what we can do to overcome them. Success will come after many failures. Don't bit

20、e off more than you can chew. Take remembering vocabulary for example, if plan more words than you can, you will feel it's too hard to memorize all these words and you may think you are not clever enough to learn English. And gradually, you will lose heart and give up English learning. Drops of

If you keep on learning English, you will make great progress, which you thought impossible.Step IIIListeningFirst get the students to talk about how to give a talk to help students to be familiar with this topic. Then listen to the tape to answer the questions. Listen to th

22、e tape for the second time and get the students to grasp more details of the text and learn how to make notes when listening. After listening, work in groups of four and complete the given tasks.DiscussionT: Have you given a talk? How did you prepare for it? What things should you not do when giving

23、 a talk?S1: Yes. First, I will look into who will be my listeners, what they know about the topic, what they would like to know and so on. Then I collect materials according to the information I get. Of course, confidence is very important. After your careful preparation, you can give a talk fluentl
