Directed Research or Senior Project in Linguistics2美国高校语言学课程的特点（1）开放式的学分系统有充分的选修读空间，很少必修学分，鼓励从语言学以及一些相关专业中获取有用的知识和经验，发挥学生的个性和兴趣。如宾夕法尼亚大学语言学专业只是要求在限定的语言学课程中修满9个学分，在相关专业中选修与语言学相关的课程4个学分，完成1个必修学分“本科生语言学导

28、师指导研讨课”，如果要得到C级及以上的高分，另20个自由选修学分须在与语言学有关的领域选修。麻省理工学院和哈佛大学的学生可自由跨校修读学分。（2）系统与前沿的语言学课程体系语言学课程系统而全面，涵盖了当代语言学的重要领域。语言学课程内容前沿性较强，较快地反映了当代语言学的发展。如形式主义是结构主义语言学之后的主流，上述所举的宾夕法尼亚大学的本科课程就有：形式语言学概论Introduction to Formal Linguistics、生成句法学介绍Introduction to Syntax、语言的逻辑分析Logical Analysis of Language、形式语义学和认知科学Form

29、al Semantics and Cognitive Science、语言的声音结构Sound Structure of Language、形态理论Morphological theory、 Introduction to Artificial Intelligence、Logic in Computer Science、Formal Logic等， 从音系、语义、语法各层面，从形式主义的理论到方法，贯彻了形式主义理念。（3）科技型的语言学课程得到了重视形式主义语言学的本质就是要为解释人脑语言机制与语言的自然处理服务的，不是为描写而描写。直接教授语言科技的课程也比较普遍，美国高校基本上都开设有

30、自然语言处理、语言认知、实验语言学等方面的课程。如宾夕法尼亚大学的实验语音分析介绍Introduction to Speech Analysis，程序语言与技术Programming Languages and Techniques，程序设计Introduction to Programming，自动机，可计算性与复杂性Automata, Computability, and Complexity、人工智能介绍Introduction to Artificial Intelligence、数字信号处理Digital Signal Processing，认知心理学Cognitive Psycho

31、logy，认知发展Cognitive Development，语言心理学Psychology of Language，认知科学导论Introduction to Cognitive Science等。哈佛大学： Philosophy of the Mind、Natural Language Processing、Cognitive Neuropsychology.（4）强调实践性和创造性美国高校语言学课程实践性强，都要求寻找资料、实际分析、或者是设计程序来进行分析与讨论。如阅读的社会语言学The Sociolinguistics of Reading，要求学生设计项目，利用电脑程式来减少当地学

32、校师生之间的文化距离并发展词语与声音结构方面的知识。田野语言学Field Linguistics、美洲原住民语言Language in Native America都是要去调查分析实际的语言。本科生语言学导师指导研讨课Undergraduate Tutorial in Linguistics直接完成研究课题，等等。UCLA成系列的研究式课程都立足于实践和创造。（二）我国高校语言学及语言科技人才培养情况1传统中文系的本科语言学课程以两所语言学力量较强的大学为例。（1）华中师范大学09汉语言文学专业（实验班）必修课：现代汉语、古代汉语、语言学概论、西方语言学史选修课：文字学、训诂学、中国语言学史语

33、言与社会文化、应用语言学（普通班不开设）、心理语言学（普通班不开设）、现代汉语修辞研究（普通班不开设）（2）暨南大学中文系09级汉语言文学本科人才培养方案必修课：现代汉语、古代汉语、语言学概论、口语表达学选修课：汉字学、训诂学、音韵学方言学、广州方言研究、地理语言学语法学、汉语短语研究、汉语句子研究、修辞学、语用学、词汇学应用语言学、认知语言学、社会语言学、文化语言学、语言学史广告语言、新闻语言概论。传统汉语文学专业开设的基本上都是汉语课程及其应用，对现代语言学的涵盖面、对语言科技的接触有限。语言学概论等语言学理论课程基本不反映二十世纪50年代之后世界语言学发展的潮流和成果。2新兴的语言学系本

36、时要求在与主修模块一致的校内其他专业中选修4个学分。二、我国语言学及其应用人才培养存在的问题传统的语言研究与教学的思路导致对现代语言学理论、语言资源调查与利用、语言应用、语言认知与语言科技等的教育重视不够，对学生自主发展开拓不够。学科的储备不足，人才短缺，培养体系欠缺（一）语言学人才培养思路偏窄传统上偏重对古汉语的解读、对现代汉语的事实描写，对现代语言学理论、语言资源调查与利用、语言的社会应用、语言认知与语言科技等的教育较少重视。1.现代语言学理论与方法我们本科的语言学课程内容基本上只到上世纪50年代之前的结构主义，之后的语言哲学观，形式主义、功能主义等等语言学理论与方法少有介绍，尤其谈不上训

37、练，难以打开学生的语言学思维与视野。课程设置与课程内容尽可能避开难学的、新兴的语言学理论。在国外最新兴的语言学理论课程都可能有学习。2.语言资源调查与利用我国高校中文系的语言学教育对我国的少数民族语言、汉藏语系、世界语言的研究、学习与利用极为罕见。语言学资源大多局限于汉语及其方言。美国本科课程就极为重视语言资源的多方开拓，值得我们借鉴。Field Linguistics：田野语言学Topics in Dravidian Linguistics：德拉威语言学专题African American and Latino English：非洲裔和拉丁裔英语Language in Native Amer

38、ica：美洲原住民语言Language in the U.S.：美国的语言American Sign Language：美国手语Languages of the World： 世界的语言Heritage languages：民族语言Introduction to Language Change语言变化History of the English Language：英语语言史Old English：古英语还有为数众多的日、韩等具体语种的学习与结构分析。其语言研究惯常列举多种语言的例子。我国语言资源的拯救、保护、利用任务迫切而繁重，汉藏语系的研究与利用也要大力加强，世界其他语言资源需要利用，有大量

39、的事情需要语言学人才去完成，语言学的教育与应用服务应该拓展视野。3.语言的社会应用语言应用领域非常宽广，随着我们的城市化发展和国家的开放，语言的应用与社区等服务也是需要大力开拓的领域，我国高校的语言学教育还缺少语言社会应用与社会服务的视野。美国课程的启示：社会语言学概论Introduction to Sociolinguistics：学生们将进行实地调查寻找语言行为的社会关联，并利用定量方法来分析结果。 The Sociolinguistics of Reading阅读的社会语言学：学生深入社区，设计项目电脑程式来减少当地学校师生之间的文化距离并帮助其发展词语与声音结构方面的知识。Langua

40、ge Structure and Verbal Art语言结构与言语艺术：探索语言结构与通俗和高雅艺术作品中的语言使用的关系。Languages in Contact语言接触：分析各类语言交融现象及变化。Language and Gesture：语言与性别还有国外纳入修辞学范围的各领域的语言策略等。3.语言认知与语言发展语言的认知机制、认知规律、儿童语言的发展与教育、语言损害与康复、双语及多语教育等等有关语言认知与语言发展的学科在我们的语言学教育与训练中还很薄弱。中文系或语言学系没有在语言的认知与发展研究中担起大梁。我国的人口环境和多语、多方言特点，对特殊语言教育和双语教育意义重大。自闭症教育例子。4.语言科技与应用语言科技型课程是国际语言学的重大领域，课程比重大，方法与内容新。我国传统的中文系却不够重视。语言科技范围广，涉及的领域多，创新难度高，语言科技教育与人才培养需要多个院校共同努力，确立各自的发展重点，相互补充。如：发展中文信息处理技术：中文
