7、it possible for me to do these classes that are so valuable to my learning without it taking away more from my family. We need more of this kind of professional development in WCSD! 8、er. You all deserve a round of applause and HUGE pay raises!I loved the pace of this course. I felt like I had time to really learn and effectively implement the tools I learned about. Seeing how others actually implement the ideas from the courses was very impactful and a great resource. I also lik
9、ed the creativity of the slides. I hope that these will be available to us for the future.This was one of the strongest parts of the class because I used the applications with my fifth graders. I was very excited to use the resources. The kids knew I was taking these webinars, and they knew we would
10、 try some new things every week. That was fun for all of us. My students and I found some resources that we really enjoyed using and that they could learn a lot from. They enjoyed the collaboration that they participated in. One student said to me, I know your secret. We are learning as we are havin
11、g fun.I liked viewing the artifacts submitted by other teachers. I got a lot of ideas about webinars Id like to take in the future and I also got some great ideas about other ways to utilize the information from the webinars I did participate in. 14、f the class was very beneficial to the my needs as a school teacher. It allowed me work when my time was available, but also gave me the opportunity to meet face-to-face and discuss what questions I had. It also allowed me to discuss and meet fellow teachers.I enjoyed this learning adventure. It was
15、 a lot of work, but worth it! I am no longer wary of using new tools or talking about using web 2.0 tools for instruction. I often find myself thinking about ways to incorporate technology into lessons and units. In addition, I often think about how I can work with teachers to adjust lessons to meet
16、 the competencies.This was a very good class that required diligence and fort. It was challenging and yet, a lot was learned.Interactive WebinarsThey introduced great resources and allowed time for reflection of current teaching practice and future instructional goals!I valued the variety of differe
17、nt courses that were offered for each competency. I plan to view all of the ones that I didnt get the chance to view over the summer because of their beneficial nature.Having us explore the links ourselves was great.I learn by doing so, Im glad we were given the opportunity to do so right then and t
18、here :-)Have them available for teachers to use and refer to as a resource (even after the class is over).Continue to add to the knowledge base. Make sure that practitioners have access to future webinars that have not yet been created.I really feel I got a lot out of the webinars. I was really able
19、 to take the information from the webinar and apply it straight to my classroom. On a personal level I wish I had taken more organized notes during the presentations so I could use them in the future. Im glad we will still have access to these in the future.Face-to-FaceI enjoyed meeting new people a
20、nd seeing what other resources people are using. I also appreciate being able to attend a different night because of scheduling conflicts.I enjoyed talking to people in my cohort about their understandings of the competencies. I learned so much in the sessions where we held discussions rather than j
21、ust sorting through scenarios and making decisions. Actually talking to others and discussing the information. I enjoyed being able to talk and get personal help from others in the class as well as the instructors.The sorts, which I initially thought were dumb, were actually very beneficial. They st
22、rengthened my understanding of the competencies with non-examples and examples.Sometimes I felt like others werent as invested in the learning process as I was and that made tasks difficult. I want to chat and relax as much as the next person - but if Im committing this time, I want to use it to rea
23、lly learn and grow. I want us to be able to share what we are doing in our classroom and the successes and failures.Online DiscussionsI had the opportunity to participate in every single conversation in the class instead of being physically limited to one small group. Online discussion allows for mo
24、re thoughtful discourse which elevates the quality of my experience.I think this part is very important and I really like how it allows us to have time to reflect on our own teaching, others teaching/reflections of their teaching and things we discussed in class. Sometimes in class discussions there
25、 isnt time to reflect and I tend to need time to mull things over. The online discussions help that.I guess for me the online discussions were a validation. As many teachers had a lot of the same ways of implementation of competencies in their class as I use them in mine.There should be more discuss
26、ions between the face to face and have people share what they are doing in their classrooms. Get more feedback from their peers.I preferred the collaboration through responses using the technology rather than the face to face discussions on each topic.The suggestions my peers made helped me make rea
27、l changes in my classroom.Application and ArtifactsI thought this was a strength of the class because I this is how I learn best.Gave me an opportunity to implement the new ideas in a real setting which allowed me to discover challenges and forced me to find solutions.This was my favorite part of th
28、e class. I had my students involved and they were excited to hear I was going to my 21st century class because they would get to try something new the following week.The only way to learn is by trying. The artifacts were fun to create and share.I like that we were required to try and add one into ou
29、r classroom at least once a month. Gave us an opportunity to really work with the types of technology.This forced us to try out the different tools that we were learning throughout the module. Its one thing to learn about a learning tool, and quite another thing to actually come up with a way to use
30、 it in your classroom in the real world.PortfoliosAllowed me to use a digital portfolio myself. I would feel a lot more comfortable using it with students now. It also opened a new world of organization to me.It forced me to self-evaluate my progress and the skills that I learned.The strengths of the portfolio was the reflection piece. I felt that looking back on the beginning of the course really helped me realize
