40、ch, whatever, whoever, whichever,且这些词在从句中担当主、宾、表、 定语作用。.连接副词:why, when, where, how 在从句中充当时 间、地点、原因、方式、程度状语。Whether , if在从句中不充当成分,但整个句式中不可 缺少,用以体现事件的不确定性。是名词从句中一个很活泼的词,但它只起连接作用, 不充当成分,陈述某一事实,引导宾语从句时某些情 况可以省略。4. that , whether, if在名词从句中的使用情况(1) that在宾语从句中大多数情况下可以省略,在 主要从句、同位语从句、表语从句中不可省去。但注意一下宾语从句中tha

41、t不可省。I know nothing of him except that he is from Henan.( 介 词短语从句中的that不可省)(2)whether , if宾语从句中有时可换用,但在主语 从句、同位语从句、表语从句中不可省去。但注意以下宾语从句中不能用if的情况:It all depends on whether they will support us.(从句作 介词宾语时不可用if)He doesn,t know whether to stay or not.(后直接跟不定 式时,不能用if)Please let me know if you like it.(这句

42、是有双重意思的, 如果视为宾语从句,就应换为whether,否则就引起歧 义)二、定语从句三、状语从句(一)时间状语从句When, while, as, before, after, since, till/until, once, every/each time, the first/second. time, whenever(二)原因状语从句as, since, because, now that 等弓|导。(三)地点状语从句Where , wherever;注意不要和where所引起的定语 从句弄混淆。(四)条件状语从句If, unless, so(as) long as, so fa

43、r as, in case注意从句中不能出现将来时的形式。(五)让步状语从句Although(though), even if (though), however, whatever 注意:though(although)引起从句时,主句中不能出 现but,但可以用yet或still连接。as引起从句时,要用倒装。(六)结果状语从句So, so(.) that 和 so that 的不同。(七)目的状语从句So that, in order that引导,放于主句之后。(八)方式状语从句As, as if , as though 等弓|导。As if或as though引导的从句,既可用陈述语
