教学目标:

1.使同学能够正确地朗读并把握所学词汇的中文意思;

2.通过创设语境与习题练习相结合的方法把握重点单词的音、形、义、用;

3.对同学进行从语境中猜想词意这一词汇学习方法的初探;

4.教授构词法的基本学问,培育同学词汇生成力量,拓宽词汇量;

5.结合词汇教学和文章理解,使同学了解加拿大的基本状况。

教学重点:

使同学把握本课词汇

教学难点:

使同学把握词汇学习的方法并培育词汇学习的爱好

教学方法:

任务型教学

课前预备:

1.前一节课已通过略读、跳读、细读等方式对课文ATripOn“TheTrueNorth”有了整体感知,并能基本完成P35的Comprehending部分。

2.老师事先依据高考词汇要求及词汇的`使用频率对所学28个词汇进行分类分组,分为只读词汇,认知词汇和运用词汇。方案针对不同级别或频度的词汇采纳不同的策略。分组如下:

GroupA:baggage,continent,harbour,eagle,border,acre

GroupB:eastward,westward,upward

GroupC:chat,scenery

GroupD:surround,measure

GroupE:ratherthan,settledown,managetodo,catchsightof,haveagiftfor

GroupF:aboard,within,slight,slightly,urban

GroupG:theRockyMountains,Stampede,cowboy,ThunderBay,LakeSuperior

教学过程:

StepⅠ:Lead-in:Brainstorm.

Q1:Doyouliketravelling?

Q2:WhatwordswillyouthinkaboutwhenIrefertotheword“travel”?

Ssbrainstormthewordsandwritethemdown.(IDcard,passport,camera,IPAD,notebook,map,jetlag,sportsshoes,…)

设计思路:用头脑风暴嬉戏导入新课,开拓同学思路并为接下来的词汇学习做预备。

StepⅡ:LearningaboutGroupA:baggage,continent,harbour,eagle,border,acre

First,listentotapeaboutthesenewwords.MakeSsrecognizethepronunciation.

Then,learnthesewordsbyguessingandparaphrasing.

T:And‘acre’isanotherwordtodescribehowlargethelandis,especiallyusedinEnglish-speakingcountries.InChinese,英亩。

设计思路:此组均为名词,把握其音、形、义即可。通过使用依据英语释义的方法猜单词,使单词学习不再枯燥乏味,反而很好玩,很刺激,对同学的学习乐观性是一种调动。

StepⅢ:LearnthenewwordsinGroupB:eastward,westward,upward

1.Teacherwritesthethreewordsontheblackboard.LeadtheSstofindouttheword-formingrules.

T:-ward(s)是表示方向的后缀,means“inacertaindirection”,常与方向词如:east,west,up,down,in,out等词派生出eastward(s),westward(s),upward(s),downward(s),inward(s)和outward(s).

So,eastwardmeans“totheeast”.Howabout‘upward’?

Ss:Totheupperplace.

设计思路:利用构词法学单词,查找并总结构词规律,既有利于提高学习效率,又能拓展词汇量。

StepⅣLearnthenewwordsinGroupC:chat,scenery

Summarizethedifferencesamongscenery,view,sight,scene.

⑴chatvs.talk

Notes:chatvi.&n.非正式场合的闲聊(常为沟通个人状况)。

talkvi.&n.(含义较多)谈话,谈天等。

但用法较相像:chat/talkwith/tosb.

chat/talkaboutsth.

haveachat/talkwithsb.aboutsth.

⑵scenery,view,sight,scene.

Notes:scenery:指一个地区全部的自然景色,如高山、森林、溪谷等,是不行数名词。

view:多指从远处或高出等某个角度所观察的“景物,景致”。

scene:除表示“景物、景致”外,还有“场面”之意,大多包括人及人的活动在内。

sight:指人们巡游观光的风景,特殊值得一看的景物,也可指“情景;景象;视力”。

Exercise:

设计思路:因不能区分同义词之间的语义差异,也是造成同学使用单词出错的缘由。通过同义或近义词的词义辨析,使同学弄清晰易混词,从而提高同学活学活用的力量。

2.GroupD:surround,measure

Notes:⑴surroundvt.&vi.包围,围绕

常用于被动语态besurroundedby

eg.Thechurchissurroundedbyawhitefence.

[语境串记]Onceuponatime,akingwhowaspolitetosurrounding(adj.四周的)countrieslivedinacastlesurrounded(v-ed被……环绕)byalargeforestandhavingwonderfulsurroundings(n.环境).

从前,在一个绿树环绕,环境美丽的城堡里住着一位国王,他对领邦非常友好。

⑵measure:vi.&vt.测量,衡量,判定

n.计量制,尺寸,措施

①measuresth.bysth.用……来衡量

eg.Educationshouldnotbemeasuredpurelybyexaminationresults.

②takemeasures/steps/actiontodosth.

eg.ThegovernmenthastakenmeasurestostopthespreadofAIDS.

设计思路:该组词汇同GroupC一样,属高频运用词汇。结合微型语境学习搭配是最直接有效的方式,有利于培育同学用英语思维的力量以及感知语言的力量。

设计思路:用小故事的方式将短语串在一起,内容好玩,可读性强,结合语境教学法,培育同学活学活用的力量。

结合课文语境学习该组词汇。

设计思路:本组词汇为prep,adj.和adv.,重点把握音、形、义,结合课文内容教学,即可把握。

StepⅦLearnthenewwordsinGroupG:theRockyMountains,Stampede,cowboy,ThunderBay,LakeSuperior.

Readthesewordsaftertheteacher.

设计思路:本组词汇均为词,不要求把握,但为了不影响课文的理解和朗读,只需把握其音、义即可,简洁处理。
