春天来了，小树抽出了嫩芽，小草探出了尖头，花儿露出了笑脸，溶化的河水哗哗地流着，一切都是焕然一新。在这个时候，一只想回家的小燕子已经预备好了，归心似箭的它预备明天启程回家。

夜里，皎洁的月光撒在大地上，小星星们在天空中玩乐着，此时，小燕子也进入了甜蜜的梦乡。在梦里，它梦见了自己的家乡，直立的山峰，青翠的树林，清亮的河水，一切都是那么的亲切，那么的美妙！

一大早，阳光撒在大地上，小燕子睁开双眼，绽开翅膀，开头了回家的旅程。

小燕子飞呀，飞呀，隐模糊约，小燕子观察了一个山坡，它回忆起从前，它和同伴们在那儿玩乐过。于是，它便迫不及待地往前飞。可是，等小燕子飞到了那里时，它绝望了，小山坡上的树林已经没有了，只能看到人类驾驶着铲车把小山坡夷为平地，小燕子只能连续往前飞了。

小燕子又回忆起从前，记得在小山坡前，有一个小镇。于是，小燕子像箭一样快速地往镇里飞去，它多么地想去镇里那清亮的河塘那里休息休息，喝一口解渴的河塘水啊！

小燕子断断续续地飞着，它观察自己离小镇越来越近了。可是，等它飞到了小镇时，一股臭味被它闻到了，它差点儿晕了过去。小燕子往下一看，小镇上建了好多工厂，至于那个河塘，已经为变成了一滩污水了，小燕子只能连续往前飞了。

小燕子已经飞行了几千公里了，它已经很累了，它的全身积满了灰尘了。小燕子又回忆起从前，它在前面的城市里的水塔下面，喝着那甘甜的水，它还在水塔边的小树上筑了一个巢，它多么想去水塔那儿喝一口水，在自己筑的巢里休息一会啊！可是，当它飞到那里时，它已经无望了，城市里的水塔已经疲拆了，小树也疲砍了，别说喝一口水、休息一会儿，光是想找一个地方降落下来都成问题了。它只能连续往前飞了。

于是，小燕子打算要快点飞回森林里的家，快点去找同伴们玩乐，喝着甘甜的山泉水，吃着那一只只小虫子，听自己的妈妈讲那动人的故事……一切是多么的美妙啊！因此，小燕子一鼓作气，它转变了飞行角度，向森林里飞了过去。越来越近了，此时，小燕子几乎看到了那片熟识的森林，看到了妈妈在门前那慈爱的笑脸，又仿佛看到了山泉的流水声，那流水的声音是多么的赏心悦目。于是，小燕子扑闪着翅膀，像箭一样飞扑进去。
