销售最常见英语面试题目
Thisquestionseemssimple,somanypeoplefailtoprepareforit,butitscrucial.Heresthedeal:Dontgiveyourcompleteemployment(orpersonal)history.Insteadgiveapitch—onethat’sconciseandcompellingandthatshowsexactlywhyyou’retherightfitforthejob.Startoffwiththe2-3specificaccomplishmentsorexperiencesthatyoumostwanttheinterviewertoknowabout,thenwrapuptalkingabouthowthatpriorexperiencehaspositionedyouforthisspecificrole.
2.Howdidyouhearabouttheposition?
Anotherseeminglyinnocuousquestion,thisisactuallyaperfectopportunitytostandoutandshowyourpassionforandconnectiontothecompany.Forexample,ifyoufoundoutaboutthegigthroughafriendorprofessionalcontact,namedropthatperson,thensharewhyyouweresoexcitedaboutit.Ifyoudiscoveredthecompanythroughaneventorarticle,sharethat.Evenifyoufoundthelistingthrougharandomjobboard,sharewhat,specifically,caughtyoureyeabouttherole.
3.Whatdoyouknowaboutthecompany?
Anycandidatecanreadandregurgitatethecompany’s“About”page.So,wheninterviewersaskthis,theyarentnecessarilytryingtogaugewhetheryouunderstandthemission—theywanttoknowwhetheryoucareaboutit.Startwithonelinethatshowsyouunderstandthecompanysgoals,usingacouplekeywordsandphrasesfromthewebsite,butthengoontomakeitpersonal.Say,“I’mpersonallydrawntothismissionbecause…”or“Ireallybelieveinthisapproachbecause…”andshareapersonalexampleortwo.
4.Whydoyouwantthisjob?
Again,companieswanttohirepeoplewhoarepassionateaboutthejob,soyoushouldhaveagreatansweraboutwhyyouwanttheposition.(Andifyoudont?Youprobablyshouldapplyelsewhere.)First,identifyacoupleofkeyfactorsthatmaketheroleagreatfitforyou(e.g.,“IlovecustomersupportbecauseIlovetheconstanthumaninteractionandthesatisfactionthatcomesfromhelpingsomeonesolveaproblem),thensharewhyyoulovethecompany(e.g.,“I’vealwaysbeenpassionateabouteducation,andIthinkyouguysaredoinggreatthings,soIwanttobeapartofit”).
5.Whyshouldwehireyou?
Thisquestionseemsforward(nottomentionintimidating!),butifyoureaskedit,youreinluck:Theresnobettersetupforyoutosellyourselfandyourskillstothehiringmanager.Yourjobhereistocraftananswerthatcoversthreethings:thatyoucannotonlydothework,youcandelivergreatresults;thatyoullreallyfitinwiththeteamandculture;andthatyoudbeabetterhirethananyoftheothercandidates.
6.Whatareyourgreatesprofessionalstrengths?
Whenansweringthisquestion,interviewcoachPamelaSkillingsrecommendsbeingaccurate(shareyourtruestrengths,notthoseyouthinktheinterviewerwantstohear);relevant(chooseyourstrengthsthataremosttargetedtothisparticularposition);andspecific(forexample,insteadof“peopleskills,”choose“persuasivecommunication”or“relationshipbuilding”).Then,followupwithanexampleofhowyouvedemonstratedthesetraitsinaprofessionalsetting.
7.Whatdoyouconsidertobeyourweaknesses?
Whatyourinterviewerisreallytryingtodowiththisquestion—beyondidentifyinganymajorredflags—istogaugeyourself-awarenessandhonesty.So,“Icantmeetadeadlinetosavemylife”isnotanoption—butneitheris“Nothing!Imperfect!”Strikeabalancebythinkingofsomethingthatyoustrugglewithbutthatyou’reworkingtoimprove.Forexample,maybeyou’veneverbeenstrongatpublicspeaking,butyouverecentlyvolunteeredtorunmeetingstohelpyoubemorecomfortablewhenaddressingacrowd.
8.Whatisyourgreatestachievement?
Nothingsays“hireme”betterthanatrackrecordofachievingamazingresultsinpastjobs,sodontbeshywhenansweringthisquestion!AgreatwaytodosoisbyusingtheS-T-A-Rmethod:Setupthesituationandthetaskthatyouwererequiredtocompletetoprovidetheinterviewerwithbackgroundcontext(e.g.,“Inmylastjobasajunioranalyst,itwasmyroletomanagetheinvoicingprocess”),butspendthebulkofyourtimedescribingwhatyouactuallydid(theaction)andwhatyouachieved(theresult).Forexample,“Inonemonth,Istreamlinedtheprocess,whichsavedmygroup10man-hourseachmonthandreducederrorsoninvoicesby25%.”
9.Tellmeaboutachallengeorconflictyouvefacedatwork,andhowyoudealtwithit.
Inaskingthisquestion,“yourinterviewerwantstogetasenseofhowyouwillrespondtoconflict.Anyonecanseemniceandpleasantinajobinterview,butwhatwillhappenifyou’rehiredandGladysinCompliancestartsgettinginyourface?”saysSkillings.Again,youllwanttousetheS-T-A-Rmethod,beingsuretofocusonhowyouhandledthesituationprofessionallyandproductively,andideallyclosingwithahappyending,likehowyoucametoaresolutionorcompromise.
10.Wheredoyouseeyourselfinfiveyears?
Ifaskedthisquestion,behonestandspecificaboutyourfuturegoals,butconsiderthis:Ahiringmanagerwantstoknowa)ifyouvesetrealisticexpectationsforyourcareer,b)ifyouhaveambition(a.k.a.,thisinterviewisntthefirsttimeyoureconsideringthequestion),andc)ifthepositionalignswithyourgoalsandgrowth.Yourbestbetistothinkrealisticallyaboutwherethispositioncouldtakeyouandansweralongthoselines.Andifthepositionisn’tnecessarilyaone-waytickettoyouraspirations?It’sOKtosaythatyou’renotquitesurewhatthefutureholds,butthatyouseethisexperienceplayinganimportantroleinhelpingyoumakethatdecision.
11.Whatsyourdreamjob?
Alongsimilarlines,theinterviewerwantstouncoverwhetherthispositionisreallyinlinewithyourultimatecareergoals.While“anNBAstar”mightgetyouafewlaughs,abetterbetistotalkaboutyourgoalsandambitions—andwhythisjobwillgetyouclosertothem.
12.Whatothercompaniesareyouinterviewingwith?
Companiesaskthisforanumberofreasons,fromwantingtoseewhatthecompetitionisforyoutosniffingoutwhetheryoureseriousabouttheindustry.“Oftenthebestapproachistomentionthatyouareexploringanumberofothersimilaroptionsinthecompanysindustry,”saysjobsearchexpertAlisonDoyle.“Itcanbehelpfultomentionthatacommoncharacteristicofallthejobsyouareapplyingtoistheopportunitytoapplysomecriticalabilitiesandskillsthatyoupossess.Forexample,youmightsayIamapplyingforseveralpositionswithITconsultingfirmswhereIcananalyzeclientneedsandtranslatethemtodevelopmentteamsinordertofindsolutionstotechnologyproblems.”

Thisisatoughie,butoneyoucanbesureyoullbeasked.Definitelykeepthingspositive—youhavenothingtogainbybeingnegativeaboutyourpastemployers.Instead,framethingsinawaythatshowsthatyoureeagertotakeonnewopportunitiesandthattheroleyou’reinterviewingforisabetterfitforyouthanyourcurrentorlastposition.Forexample,“I’dreallylovetobepartofproductdevelopmentfrombeginningtoend,andIknowI’dhavethatopportunityhere.”Andifyouwereletgo?Keepitsimple:“Unfortunately,Iwasletgo,”isatotallyOKanswer.
14.Whywereyoufired?
OK,ifyougettheadmittedlymuchtougherfollow-upquestionastowhyyouwereletgo(andthetruthisntexactlypretty),yourbestbetistobehonest(thejob-seekingworldissmall,afterall).Butitdoesnthavetobeadeal-breaker.Sharehowyou’vegrownandhowyouapproachyourjobandlifenowasaresult.Ifyoucanpositionthelearningexperienceasanadvantageforthisnextjob,evenbetter.

Hint:Ideallythesamethingsthatthispositionhastooffer.Bespecific.
16.Whattypeofworkenvironmentdoyouprefer?

17.Whatsyourmanagementstyle?
Thebestmanagersarestrongbutflexible,andthatsexactlywhatyouwanttoshowoffinyouranswer.(Thinksomethinglike,“Whileeverysituationandeveryteammemberrequiresabitofadifferentstrategy,Itendtoapproachmyemployeerelationshipsasacoach...”)Then,shareacoupleofyourbestmanagerialmoments,likewhenyougrewyourteamfromfiveto15orcoachedanunderperformingemployeetobecomethecompanystopsalesperson.
18.Whatsatimeyouexercisedleadership?
Dependingonwhatsmoreimportantforthetherole,youllwanttochooseanexamplethatshowcasesyourprojectmanagementskills(spearheadingaprojectfromendtoend,jugglingmultiplemovingparts)oronethatshowsyourabilitytoconfidentlyandeffectivelyrallyateam.Andremember:“Thebeststoriesincludeenoughdetailtobebelievableandmemorable,”saysSkillings.“Showhowyouwerealeaderinthissituationandhowitrepresentsyouroverallleadershipexperienceandpotential.”
