Thewoodentower,whichisthelargestandbest-preservedofitskindinChina,is36metershigh.Itstandsonabrickbase35.5meterslongand8.6metershighoneachside.DuringtheMingDynasty,XianwasanimportantmilitarytowninNorthwestChina,afactthatisreflectedinthesizeandhistoricsignificanceofitstower.

Thetowerwasbuiltin1384byEmperorZhuYuanzhangasawaytodominatethesurroundingcountrysideandprovideearlywarningofattackbyrivalrulers.Thetowerhasthreelayersofeavesbutonlytwostories.Inside,astaircasespiralsup.Thegreybricksofthesquarebase,thedarkgreenglazedtilesontheeaves,gold-platingontheroofandgildedcolorpaintingmakethetoweracolorfulanddramaticmasterpieceofMing-stylearchitecture.Inadditiontoenhancingthebeautyofthebuilding,thethreelayersofeavesreducetheimpactofrainonthebuilding.

Asthesymboloftheold-line（历史悠久的）Xi’an,BigWildGoosePagodaisawell-preservedancientbuildingandaholy（神圣的）placeforBuddhists（佛教徒）.ThefullnameofBigWildGoosePagoda”EnWildGoosePagodaTemple“（慈恩寺大雁塔）,located4kilometersawayfromXi’anareaoftheGraceTemple(慈恩寺),builtin652AD,accordingtolegendGraceTempleisthefirstabbotpresidedovertheTangSancang(唐三藏)fromIndiaafterthereturnofthecountry,inordertoworshipandstorageclassicalsanskrit（梵文经典）andbuddhistrelics（佛像舍利）todesignandbuiltpersonally.Themusicalfountain

TheTerraCottaWarriorsAndhorses

TheTerraCottaWarriorsAndhorsesisregardedasoneoftheeightgreatestwondersintheworld,andasightnottobemissedbyanyvisitortoChina.In1987,itwaslistedasoneoftheworldculturalheritagesbyUNESCO(联合国教科文组织).AsoneofthemostfamousscenicspotsinChina,itattractslotsoftouristsbothathomeandfromabroad.Themuseumcoversanareaof16,300squaremeters，andisdividedintothreesections：No.1Pit(坑),No.2Pit,No.3Pitrespectively.Theyweretaggedintheorderoftheirdiscoveries.Therearecolumns(塔器)ofsoldiersatthefront,followedbywarchariots（战车）attheback.HuaMountain
