PrinciplesofMolecularFluorescence
Molecularfluorescenceismeasuredbyexcitingthesampleattheabsorptionwavelength,alsocalledexcitationwavelength,andmeasuringtheemissionatalongerwavelengthcalledtheemissionorfluorescencewavelength.Usually,fluorescenceemissionismeasuredatrightanglestotheincidentbeamsoastoavoidmeasuringtheincidentradiation.Theshort-livedemissionthatoccursiscalledfluorescence,whereasluminescencethatismuchlongerlastingiscalledphosphorescence.
