TheOlympiccreedwasalsointroducedatthe1896Games.AsstatedbyPierredeCoubertin,thecreedisasfollows:”ThemostimportantthingintheOlympicGamesisnottowinbuttotakepart,justasthemostimportantthinginlifeisnotthetriumphbutthestruggle.Theessentialthingisnottohaveconqueredbuttohavefoughtwell.”TheOlympicFlagItwasPierredeCoubertinwhoconceivedtheideaoftheOlympicflagwithfivecolouredinterlockingringsonawhitebackround.TheringsrepresenttheunionofthefivecontinentsandthemeetingoftheathletesfromallaroundtheworldattheOlympicGames.
