Electricalsafety

•Topreventelectricalshockhazard,disconnectthepowercablefromtheelectricaloutletbeforerelocatingthesystem.

•Whenaddingorremovingdevicestoorfromthesystem,ensurethatthepowercablesforthedevicesareunpluggedbeforethesignalcablesareconnected.Ifpossible,disconnectallpowercablesfromtheexistingsystembeforeyouaddadevice.

•Beforeconnectingorremovingsignalcablesfromthemotherboard,ensurethatallpowercablesareunplugged.

•Seekprofessionalassistancebeforeusinganadpaterorextensioncord.Thesedevicescouldinterruptthegroundingcircuit.

•Makesurethatyourpowersupplyissettothecorrectvoltageinyourarea.Ifyouarenotsureaboutthevoltageoftheelectricaloutletyouareusing,contactyourlocalpowercompany.

•Ifthepowersupplyisbroken,donottrytofixitbyyourself.Contactaqualifiedservicetechnicianoryourretailer.

Operationsafety

•Beforeinstallingthemotherboardandaddingdevicesonit,carefullyreadallthemanualsthatcamewiththepackage.

•Beforeusingtheproduct,makesureallcablesarecorrectlyconnectedandthepowercablesarenotdamaged.Ifyoudetectanydamage,contactyourdealerimmediately.

•Toavoidshortcircuits,keeppaperclips,screws,andstaplesawayfromconnectors,slots,socketsandcircuitry.

•Avoiddust,humidity,andtemperatureextremes.Donotplacetheproductinanyareawhereitmaybecomewet.

•Placetheproductonastablesurface.

•Ifyouencountertechnicalproblemswiththeproduct,contactaqualifiedservicetechnicianoryourretailer.

Takenoteofthefollowingprecautionsbeforeyouinstallmotherboardcomponentsorchangeanymotherboardsettings.

1.Unplugthepowercordfromthewallsocketbeforetouchinganycomponent.

2.Useagroundedwriststraportouchasafelygroundedobjectortoametalobject,suchasthepowersupplycase,beforehandlingcomponentstoavoiddamagingthemduetostaticelectricity.

3.HoldcomponentsbytheedgestoavoidtouchingtheICsonthem.

4.Wheneveryouuninstallanycomponent,placeitonagroundedantistaticpadorinthebagthatcamewiththecomponent.

5.Beforeyouinstallorremoveanycomponent,ensurethattheATXpowersupplyisswitchedofforthepowercordisdetachedfromthepowersupply.Failuretodosomaycauseseveredamagetothemotherboard,peripherals,and/orcomponents.

• Power-toprovidethesignalsrequiredforpowermanagement,andthemainpowersuppliestooperatetheCNRcircuitry

TheCNRistaggedtoreplacethecurrentAudioModemRiser(AMR)slotbecauseofitsflexibilityandaddedfeatures.Also,theCNRslotdoesnottakeupthemotherboardspaceforonePCIslotbecauseitisasharedslot;rather,itprovidesyoumoreoptions.

1.8Jumpers

Thissectiondescribesandillustratesthejumpersonthemotherboard.

1. USBdevicewake-up(3-pinUSBPWR12,USBPWR34,USBPWR56)

Setthesejumpersto+5VtowakeupthecomputerfromS1sleepmode(CPUstopped,DRAMrefreshed,systemrunninginlowpowermode)usingtheconnectedUSBdevices.Setto+5VSBtowakeupfromS3sleepmode(nopowertoCPU,DRAMinslowrefresh,powersupplyinreducedpowermode).Bothjumpersaresettopins1-2(+5V)bydefaultbecausenotallcomputershavetheappropriatepowersupplytosupportthisfeature.

TheUSBPWR12andUSBPWR34jumpersarefortherearUSBport.USBPWR56isfortheinternalUSBheaderthatyoucanconnecttothefrontUSBports.

Thisfeaturerequiresapowersupplythatcanprovideatleast2Aonthe+5VSBleadwhenthesejumpersaresetto+5VSB.Otherwise,thesystemdoesnotpowerup.

ThetotalcurrentconsumedmustNOTexceedthepowersupplycapability(+5VSB)whetherundernormalconditionorinsleepmode.

2.ClearRTCRAM(CLRTC1)

ThisjumperclearstheRealTimeClock(RTC)RAMofdate,timeandsystemsetupparametersinCMOS.TheRAMdatainCMOSispoweredbytheonboardbuttoncellbattery.

ToerasetheRTCRAM:

1.TurnOFFthecomputerandunplugthepowercord.2.Removethebattery.

3.Movethejumpercapsfrom[1-2]to[2-3]momentarily.Replacethejumpercaptotheoriginalposition,[1-2].

4.Re-installthebattery.

5.PlugthepowercordandturnONthecomputer.

6.Holddownthe<Del>keyduringthebootprocessandenterBIOSsetuptore-enterdata.
