Electricalsafety

• Topreventelectricalshockhazard,disconnectthepowercablefromtheelectricaloutletbeforerelocatingthesystem.

• Whenaddingorremovingdevicestoorfromthesystem,ensurethatthepowercablesforthedevicesareunpluggedbeforethesignalcablesareconnected.Ifpossible,disconnectallpowercablesfromtheexistingsystembeforeyouaddadevice.

• Beforeconnectingorremovingsignalcablesfromthemotherboard,ensurethatallpowercablesareunplugged.

• Seekprofessionalassistancebeforeusinganadapterorextensioncord.Thesedevicescouldinterruptthegroundingcircuit.

• Makesurethatyourpowersupplyissettothecorrectvoltageinyourarea.Ifyouarenotsureaboutthevoltageoftheelectricaloutletyouareusing,contactyourlocalpowercompany.

• Ifthepowersupplyisbroken,donottrytofixitbyyourself.Contactaqualifiedservicetechnicianoryourretailer.

Takenoteofthefollowingprecautionsbeforeyouinstallmotherboardcomponentsorchangeanymotherboardsettings.

• Makesurethatyourpowersupplyunit(PSU)canprovideatleasttheminimumpowerrequiredbyyoursystem.See“10.ATXpowerconnectors”on28fordetails.

• Unplugthepowercordfromthewallsocketbeforetouchinganycomponent.

• Useagroundedwriststraportouchasafelygroundedobjectortoametalobject,suchasthepowersupplycase,beforehandlingcomponentstoavoiddamagingthemduetostaticelectricity

• HoldcomponentsbytheedgestoavoidtouchingtheICsonthem.

• Wheneveryouuninstallanycomponent,placeitonagroundedantistaticpadorinthebagthatcamewiththecomponent.
