TheDruckDPI705Epressureindicatorusesasilicontransducertoproduceapressurereadinginvariouspressuremeasurementunits.TheseuserinstructionsincludetheoperationsforallDPI705EPressureIndicators,safetyinstructionsandtherequirementsforintrinsicallysafeinstruments.
ThePM700EprovidearemotepressuresensorfunctionfortheDPI705Etoallowmoreconvenientconnectionwhendirectconnectionofthehandheldinstrumentwouldbeinconvenient.ThePM700Eisa“plugandplay”deviceholdingitsowncalibrationdata,soitcanbeusedtohavemultiplepressurerangesensorsavailableforimmediateusewithasingleDPI705Einstrument.
TheRTD-INTERFACEisaremoteinterfaceforusewiththeDPI705EortheDPI620GtoallowconnectionofaPT100RTDprobetotheinstrumentforthepurposeofmeasuringtemperature.

1.BasicFunctionality
1.1Turnon/off
INFORMATIONIfnodatehasbeenpreviouslyset,a“ ”(Date)symbolis
displayedpromptingforasystemdate.RefertotheSection3.2.6.tosetasystemdate.Afterthedateisset,followstep3onwards.
INFORMATIONTheexternalsensorhasprecedenceovertheinternalsensor.Thismeansthatifanexternalsensorisconnected,theinstrumentwillmeasurefromtheexternalsensorbydefault.
Toturnontheunit,pressthepowerbuttonbriefly.AllthesegmentsilluminateontheLCDDisplayasshownbelow.
Uponsuccessfulpowerup,thesequenceofeventsthatfolloware,1. Thebacklightturnson(unlessdisabled).
2. Thebatterylevelisdisplayed.
3. Thepositivefull-scaleofthesensorisbrieflydisplayed.
4. Thenumberofdaysremainingtothenextcalibrationduedatearethenbrieflydisplayed.

1.2PressureMeasurement
TheDPI705Ecanbeusedtomeasurepressurefromanexternalpressuresource-itdoesnotgeneratepressureitself.
Tomeasurepressure:
1. ConnectanexternalpressuresourcetobemeasuredviatheP1pressureportatthetopoftheinstrument.
2. Theinstrumentwilldisplaythemeasuredpressureusingtheinternalsensorasshownbelow.
3. Tomeasurepressureviaanexternalsensor,connectanexternalsensorviatheportontherightsideoftheinstrument.
4. Theinstrumentwillthenmeasurepressureusingtheexternalsensorasshownbelow.
Note:Thesensortype(absoluteorgauge)willbeshownonthedisplayas“ ”or“”.Differentialsensorsareindicatedasgauge.
1.3TemperatureMeasurement
TheDPI705EcanbeusedtomeasuretemperatureusingtheRTD-INTERFACE.Tomeasuretemperature:
1. ConnecttheRTD-INTERFACEviatheportontherightoftheinstrument,andconnectanRTD-PROBEorPT100totheRTD-INTERFACE.

2. TheinstrumentwillmeasuretemperatureinDegreesCelsiusbydefaultasshownbelow.
3. Tochangethetemperatureunit,presstheshowninDegreesFahrenheit.
4. Tochangethemeasurementunit,presstheOhms.

keyagain.Thereadingisthenshownin
1.4ZERO
CAUTIONZeroisafunctionthatcausesanon-reversibleadjustmentofthe
zeroreadingandeffectivelyadjuststhecalibrationofthesensor.Donotconfusezerowithtare-pleasereadbothsectionsifuncertain.
AzeroshouldbeperformedonaGaugeorDifferentialpressureinstrumentbeforemeasuringpressure.Thezerofunctionisnotavailableonabsolutepressuresensors(becauseabsolutevacuumwouldhavetobeappliedtothemtomakeitvalid)andisnotavailableonRTD-Interface.
Toperformazero:
1. Openallpressureportstoatmosphericpressure.
2. Pressthe and keystogether.

3. Thedisplaywillbrieflyshow“ ”(Zero)indicatingthatthezerofunctionhasbeensuccessful.
1.5TARE
Thetarefunctionallowsatemporaryoffsettomakethereadinggotozeroatthepointwhenthekeyispressed.Thisoffsetismaintaineduntilthe keyispressedagain,ortheunitis
poweredoff.
Totogglethetarefunctionalityonoroffpressthe key.Iftareisactivethen“ ”willbeshownonthedisplayasbelow.
1.6FILTER
Thefilterfunctionalityallowsafilteredpressurereadingbyshowingarollingaverageoflast10measurements.Thiswillgiveamorestablereadingofanoisymeasurement.
Totogglethefilterfunctionality,
1. Pressthe key.
2. Thecurrentstatusofthefilterfunctionwillbedisplayed.
3. The“ ”(Filter)indicationondisplaymeansthefilterfunctionalityison.Thedevicewillstartdisplayingfilteredreadingsonthedisplay.
4. Pressthe keyagaintoturnthefilterfunctionalityoff.Thefiltersymbolwilldisappear.

Themaximumreadingisthehighestreadbytheinstrumentsincepowerup.Thevaluewillbereseteachtimethedeviceisturnedoff.
Toview/resetthemaximumpressurereading:
1. Ensurethedisplayisonthesensorreadingscreenasshownintheexamplebelow.
2. Pressthe key.
3. Thedisplaywillthenshowthemaximumrecordedreading.Note:
• Theup-arrowonthedisplayindicatesthatthecurrentreadingisthemaximumpressurereading.e.g.11mbar.
• Ifthereisadashsymbolbelowtheuparrow,itmeansthereadingisnegative(notshownincurrentexample).
4. Toresetthemaximumpressurereading,pressandholdthe keyuntilabeepsoundisheard(ifaudioisenabled).
5. Thereadingwillthenreset,andtheunitwillimmediatelystartmeasuringagain,butisstillonlyshowingthemaximumreadingonthedisplay-thisiseffectivelyPeakHoldmode.
6. Pressthe keytoexitmaximumdisplaymode.
2.2MinimumReading
Theminimumreadingisthelowestreadbytheinstrumentsincepowerup.Thevaluewillbereseteachtimethedeviceisturnedoff.

2. Pressthe key.
3. Thedisplaywillshowmaximumpressurereading,withup-arrow.
4. Pressthe keyagaintoseetheMinimumPressurereading.Note:
• Thedown-arrowonthedisplayindicatesthatthecurrentreadingistheminimumpressurereading.
• Thedashabovethedownarrowindicatesthatthereadingisnegative.Thedisplaybelowshows-16mbar.
5. Toresettheminimumpressurereading,pressandholdthe keyuntilabeepsoundisheard(ifaudioisenabled).
6. Thereadingwillthenreset,andtheunitwillimmediatelystartmeasuringagain,butisstillonlyshowingtheminimumreadingonthedisplay-thisiseffectivelynegativePeakHoldmode.
7. Pressthe keytoexitminimumdisplaymode.
2.3LeakTest
Thisfeatureisusedtodeterminewhetherthereisaleakintheconnectedsystembyrecordingthepressurechangeoveraperiodoftime.LeaktestcanalsobeusedwiththeRTD-INTERFACEtorecordtemperaturechangeovertime.
Toperformaleaktest,followthesequenceofstepsbelow:

1. Ensurethedisplayisonthesensorreadingscreen.
2. Pressthe key3times.
3. Aclocksymbolappearsinthetopleftcornerofthedisplay.Theleaktesttimeappearswithdefaultat60seconds.
4. Tochangethetimervalue,pressthe key,thedisplaywillcycle60,120,300seconds.
5. Pressthe keytostarttheleaktestfortheselectedtimeduration.Thetimerdisplaycountsdownandthepointerintheclocksymbolwillrotateforthespecifiedduration.
6. Afterthetimehaselapsed,thedisplaywillshowthechange(leak)rateperminuteineitherpressureunitsortemperature/resistanceforRTD-INTERFACE.Theclocksymbolthenchangestosteady,andthecurrentconfiguredmeasurementunitwillbevisibleatthebottomofthedisplay.
7. ToleavetheLeakTestscreen,pressthe key.
2.4Alarm
Thealarmfeatureallowsanalarmtobesetbasedoncertainconditions.Forexample,pressurevalueaboveorbelowusersetlimits.

Thesteadyappearanceofabellicononthetoprightcornerofthedisplayindicatesthatthealarmfeatureisenabledandhighandlowthresholdvaluesforthealarmtriggerarealreadyset.
Whenthealarmistriggeredthebelliconflashes,thereadingflashesandthebacklightflashes.Bydefault,thealarmsoundsfor60secondsbutthedisplayflashesuntilthealarmconditionisremoved.
Toturnthealarmfeatureonoroff:
1. Ensurethedisplayisonthesensorreadingscreen.
2. Pressthe and keyssimultaneously.
3. Thecurrentstateofthealarmwillbedisplayedasshownbelow.
4. Tochangethestateofthealarm,pressthe keyasshownabove.
5. Pressthe tosavethechangesandreturntothesensorreadingscreen.6. Oncethealarmison,twoalarmtypesareavailable:
a. Highalarm:Alarmwillbetriggeredwhenthemeasurementgoesabovethehighthresholdvalue.
b. Lowalarm:Alarmwillbetriggeredwhenthemeasurementgoesbelowthelowthresholdvalue.
Note:
• TheinstrumentwillnottriggeranalarmifthealarmstateissettoOFF.• SeeSection2.4.1andSection2.4.2tosethigh/lowalarmthresholds.
• Highandlowalarmsareindependentofeachother.Eitheroneorbothcanbeenabled.
2.4.1SetHighAlarm
Thehighalarmcanbesettoprovideanalarmwhenpressureortemperatureexceedsthesethighthresholdvalue.
Note:Thechosenlimitmustbewithintherangeofthesensor.Forexample,ifasensor'srangecoverspositivevaluesonly,thenanegativelimitcannotbeset.

9. Pressthe keytogotothemainscreen.
2.4.2SetLowAlarm
Thelowalarmallowsanalarmtobesetforwhenpressurereadinggoesbelowthealarmlowthreshold
Tosetalowalarm:
1. Ensurethedisplayisonthesensorreadingscreen.
2. Pressthe and keyssimultaneously.
3. Thecurrentstateofthealarmwillbedisplayedasa“”(On)or“ ”(Off).EnsurethealarmissettoON.
4. Pressthe keytwicetonavigatetothelowalarmscreen.Thepressurevaluesetforlowalarmwillbedisplayed.
Note:
• Thedownarrowontheleftindicatesthatthisisthelowvalue.
• Thedashabovethearrowindicatesthatthisisanegativevalue.
