the

years

preceding

2023,

the

COVID-19

pandemic

had

brought

our

lives

toa

suddenstandstill,

the

war

in

Ukraine

shockedthe

world,

and

any

outlook

regarding

the

globaleconomy

seemed

rather

grim.

With

this

in

mind,

the

fact

that

in

2023

the

world

has

finally

–left

behind

the

tougher

phases

of

the

pandemic

provides

very

welcomed

relief.

Significantlyless

welcomed

is

whatweare

still

seeing

in

the

geopolitical

scenario

these

days;

the

war

inUkraine

is

continuing

still

today.

In

addition

to

it,a

spiral

of

rising

tension

in

the

Middle

Eastwas

triggered

by

the

attacks

on

Israel

on

October7

this

year.

Not

only

do

these

wars

andconflicts

cause

humanitarian

crises,

they

add

further

question

marks

to

the

future

of

theoverall

global

economy.

However,

despite

many

experts

in

2022

predicting

an

economicdownturn

this

year,a

global

recessionhas

not

hit

us

in

2023

(although

some

economiessuffered

still),

and

there

are

signs

that

inflation

is

decreasing

to

lower

levels

in

manycountries.

On

the

other

hand,

higher

interest

rates

and

the

pressure

to

globalize

supplychains

stemming

from

geopolitical

instability

hit

both

consumers

and

producers,

still
