stipulatesstandardizedconditionsforperformingtorque/preloadforcetestsformechanicalfastenerswhoseresultsoftencannotbeappliedtouseinproduction.Forinstance,
boltsandnutsareusuallytightenedinseveralstageswithfastpre-tighteninginordertoshortenassemblytime.Thefinaltighteningisusuallyperformedat20min-1,oftenbeyondtheyieldpoint.Additionalfriction-influencingfactorsbecomeeffectivewithlargeranglesofrotation.
Thefriction-influencingfrictionpartnersoftheboltsandnutscanhaveverydiversesurfacetex‐

Insomeapplications,e.g.forwheelbolts,themountingisperformedmultipletimeswiththefasten‐ingstagesoftightening,loosening,andfinaltightening.Multipletighteningoperationsmustalsobetakenintoconsiderationinthecaseofrework.Contrarytostandardizedlaboratorytests,thesepro‐ductionconditionsusuallygeneratehighercoefficientsoffrictionwithsometimessignificantlylargerdispersion.
