Fig.1ComponetoverviewoftheAutoChief®C20propulsioncontrolsystemTheAutoChief®C20PropulsionControlSystemisdesignedforremotecontrolofthemainenginefromthecombinedtelegraphandmanoeuvringleverinthewheelhouse.Bymovingthislever,thesystemwillautomaticallystart,reverse,stopandspeed-setthemainengine.ThemaincomponentsoftheAutoChief®C20PropulsionControlSystemare:ControlpanelsRemotecontrolsystemEnginetelegraphsystemEnginesafetysystemDigitalgovernorsystemManoeuvringrecorderDistributedprocessingunitsThecontrolpanelisdesignedforeasyoperation.Anadvancedyetsimpletousemultifunctioncontrollergivesaccesstoallsystemfunctions.Informationisprovidedonlywhenneededtokeepoperationsimple.Acolourdisplaypresentskeyinformationgraphicallyforeasyunderstanding.Customdesignedmimicpicturesareavailableforeachenginetype,andallmainvariablessuchasRPM,startairandscavengingairpressure,enginestateetc.arealwaysavailable(设计定制的模拟图像可用于各种主机类型,诸如转速、启动空气和扫气压力、主机状态等所有主要变量均都始终可用).Thecontrolpanelcanbeinstalledintoanystandardconsole.Todistinguishbetweenusergroupsseverallevelsofcontrolareavailable.Essentially,anEngineTelegraphSystemisdesignedtocontroltheengineandcomprisesanAutoChief®C20LeverTelegraphUnit(LTU)atthefollowinglocations:BridgeControlroomTheAutoChief®C20LeverTelegraphUnit(LTU)isacombinedtelegraph&manoeuvringleverwithtelegraphhandleandemergencystopswitch.InadditiontotheLeverTelegraphUnit,anotherunitprovidesasimplesubtelegraphsystemfortheengineroom.ThePushButtonTelegraph(PBT)enablesanoperatortotransmit/receivemessagesbetweenthebridge,controlroomandengineroom.Thefollowingstandardfunctionsareavailableasexplainedabove:EngineTelegraphModes:EngineTelegraphControlLocationEngineTelegraphStatusEmergencyStopThefollowingtelegraphdivisionsareprovidedbypushbuttonswithindicators:Ahead:D.Slow,Slow,Half,Full,NavigationFullStopAstern:D.Slow,Slow,Half,Full,EmergencyAsternTheremotecontrolsystemisequippedwithasemi-automaticcontrolsystemwhileoperatingincontrolroomcontrol.TheseparatecontrolsystemconsistsofaleverwhichisdirectlyconnectedtotheMainEngineInterfaceunit.ThelevercontainsswitchesforAhead,AsternandStop.AdditionallyitincludesapotentiometerwhichprovidesaspeedsetsignaltotheMEI.Thefollowingdivisionsareprovided:Ahead:StartAhead,Speed-set1–10aheadStopAstern:StartAstern,Speed-set1–10asternTheindicationpanelunitislocatedintheenginecontrolroomconsole.Themainfunctionsincludedaredirectindicationofengine,enginesub-systemsandcontrolofauxiliaryblowers.RemotecontrolsystemfunctionsStartblockAslongasanyofthebelowmentionedconditionsisactivetheengineisinhibitedforstarting.StartingthemainengineIftheengineispreparedforstarttheengineisstartedautomaticallyinahead(orastern)directionfromsimplybysettingthebridgehandlefromstoptoanypositioninahead(orastern)direction.RemotecontrolsystemfunctionsRPMlimitersForprotectingtheengineanditsaccesoriesagainstthermalstressanddestructionandunnecessarywearandtearsomefixedRPMLimitersareincludedinthesystem.ManualRPMLoadprogramAccelerationlimiterMinimumRPMSlowDownBarredspeedrange/CriticalRPMlimiterShaftGeneratorcontrolmodeRemotecontrolsystemfunctionsTheengineisreversedautomaticallytoahead(orastern)directionfrombridgebysettingthebridgehandlefromstoptoanypositioninahead(orastern)direction.Reversingsequencewillbecarriedoutpriortothestartingsequence.Iftheengineisrunningabovethebrakeairlevel,brakeairwillbesuppliedwhenenginehasreacheddowntobrakeairlevel,inordertoperformthereversingsequenceasfastaspossible(如果主机正运行在制动空气水平以上,那么当主机降低到制动空气水平之下时,制动空气应被供应,以便尽可能快地执行换向过程).RemotecontrolsystemfunctionsCrashmanoeuvringmeansquickreversingoftheenginefromaheadtoastern.It’susedinemergencysituation,whenthebridgeleverismovedfromfullaheadtofullasternposition.Movethebridgeleverfromfullaheadtofullasternposition."crashastern"indicationonbridgeandcontrolroomACP.Stopsignalwillbegiventomainengine.EnginespeedwillreducetobrakeairlevelEnginewillbereversed,andstartairwillbesuppliedHeavystartandcancellimiterssignalswillbegiventothegovernor.Whenthespeedreachesthefuel/startairchangelevelinasterndirection,thestartairwillbeswitchedoff,andfuelwillbesupplied.RemotecontrolsystemfunctionsStoppingthemainengineTheengineisstoppedautomaticallybysettingthebridgehandletoSTOPposition.Thestopsolenoidvalveisactivated,andstopsignalisgiventogovernortosetthefuelrackinzeroposition.Asabackupforthestopfunction,emergencystopswitchesareprovidedonthetelegraphpanelinbridgeandcontrolroom(andontheenginesidecontrolbox),hardwireddirectlytosafetysystem(作为备用的停车功能,在驾驶台和控制室(以及主机侧控制箱)的车钟面板上提供紧急制动开关,以直接连接到安全系统).RemotecontrolsystemfunctionsLoadChangeDependantCylinderLubricationFunctionThisfunctionallowsforadditionalcylinderlubrication.Theconditiontogiveextracylinderlubricationiswhenadistinctandpermanentloadchangeisdetected.CCO,CylindercutoutfunctionThisfunction’smainpurposeistoimprovethestabilityofrpmwhentheengineisoperatedatlowloadandrpm.Thesystemiscuttingtheoperationofcylindersingroups,normally2.RemotecontrolsystemfunctionsMeaningthatduringthisoperationonlyhalfofthecylinderswillbeinoperationsimultaneously.Theoperationofthecylindergr
