AccordingtotherequirementsofDocumentJIANBIAO[2004]No.67issuedbytheMinistryof
Construction-"NoticeonPrintingandDistributing'theDevelopmentandRevisionPlanofNational
EngineerConstructionStandardsin2004'",thisstandardwasrevisedbyNanjingHydraulicResearch
InstitutebasedonGBJ145-90StandardforClassificationofSoils.
Thisstandardincludesfivechapters.Itsmaintechnicalcontentsinclude:generalprovisions;terms,
symbolsanddesignations;basicrequirements;soilclassification;simplifiedsoilidentification,
classificationanddescription.Anappendixisalsoprovided.
Themainrevisionsmadeinthisstandardareasfollows:thecontextsrelevanttospecialsoilsare
removed.Terms,symbolsanddesignationsareadded.Appendix1forbasicdesignationsisremoved;one
subgroupfractionsareincreasedforgravel,twosubgroupfractionsareincreasedforsand;theplasticitychart
withtheliquidlimitscorrespondingto10mmdepthoffallconepenetrationisremoved,alongwithits
