amongothertasks.AccordingtoNeuralink,Alextooklessthan5minutesbetweenfirstconnectingtoacomputertocontrolacursorwithhismind,andeventually
surpassedthepreviousworldrecordforBCIcursorcontrolwithanon-Neuralinkdeviceondayoneofusinghisimplant.Importantly,withsurgicaladjustments(positioningtheimplantclosertothebrainsurfaceandaccountingforreduced
brainmotion),NeuralinkwasabletomitigatethethreadretractionissuesexperiencedwithArbaugh,
claiming
"nothreadretraction"amonthafterthesurgery.
