2.2Warrantyofnon-inclusionofchemicalsubstancesinprocuredproducts

IntheBasicAgreemententeredintowhentradingmaterials,theHitachiGrouprequestsoursupplierstomakecertainconsiderationsfortheenvironment.Regardingchemicalsubstancesintheirproducts,suppliersarerequestedtoconductqualitycontrolbywarrantingthenon-inclusionofchemicalsubstancesintheirproductsasnecessary.

Ifnon-inclusionofchemicalsubstancesinproductsisstatedasapurchasespecificationrequirementinthetrade,documentationssuchas"WarrantyofNon-InclusionConcerningBannedChemicalSubstancesinProducts"(WarrantyofNon-Inclusion)mustbesubmittedtotheHitachiGroupasadeliveryspecificationrequirement.

"Non-inclusion"indicatesthatthefollowingisrationallyprovedregardlessofwhetherinclusionofthesubstanceisintentional:

-Certainchemicalsubstancesarenotincluded,ortheyareincludedbutatanamountlessthanthedesignatedthresholdvalue.

2.3Guidelinesforregulatinginformationaboutchemicalsubstancesincludedinproducts(prohibitionandcontrol)

Whencollectinginformationaboutchemicalsubstancescontainedinproducts,choosethebestwaytodosofromaneconomicalandengineeringstandpoint.

Useoflevel1prohibitedsubstancesgroupsisbasicallyprohibitedaccordingtoregulationsinsideandoutsideJapan,solegally,theirnon-inclusioninproductsmustbeguaranteed.

Forlevel2controlledsubstancegroups,appropriatemanagementofinclusioninformationisrequiredregardlessofwhetherthesubstancesareincludedintheproducts.Suppliersarerequestedtofilereportsinallcases;evenstatementssuchas"Thereisnoinformationavailablethatshowsinclusionofthechemicalsubstances"aretobereportedwhenappropriate.

2.4Regardingchangesinmaterials,manufacturingmethods,andinformationaboutincludedchemicalsubstances

Ifanychangesinmaterials,manufacturingmethods,productionlocation,majormanufacturingequipment,personsinchargeofmanufacturing,etc.aretobemadeforprocuredproducts,suppliersarerequiredtosubmitanoticeaboutthedetailsofthechangeandthescopeofeffecteachtime.Inaddition,forinformationoninclusionofchemicalsubstances,submissionofanoticeismandatorywhenanewinclusionisdiscovered,orwhenpreviously-reportedinclusionshavechanged.
