互动理论视角下大学英语教师课堂会话修正研究Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoexploretheapplicationofinteractiontheoryinthecorrectionofcollegeEnglishteachers'classroomconversations.Byanalyzingtheprinciplesandmethodsofinteractionallanguageuse,thisresearchseekstoprovideatheoreticalframeworkforimprovingthequalityofteacher-studentinteractionsintheEnglishclassroom.Thestudyadoptsaqualitativeresearchmethod,involvingbothclassroomobservationsandteacherinterviews.Thefindingssuggestthatbyincorporatinginteractiontheoryintoclassroompractice,teacherscanenhancetheirabilitytocorrectstudents'errors,promoteactiveparticipation,andfosteramorecollaborativelearningenvironment.Introduction:TheimportanceofeffectivecommunicationintheEnglishclassroomcannotbeoverstated.However,manycollegeEnglishteachersstrugglewiththeartofconversationcorrection,oftenresortingtoimprovisationorrelyingonrotememorizationofgrammarrules.Thispaperarguesthatbyapplyinginteractiontheory,teacherscannotonlycorrectstudenterrorsmoreeffectivelybutalsocreateamoredynamicandengaginglearningexperience.InteractionTheory:Interactiontheory,developedbyHenrikSchmidtandothers,positsthatlanguageisnotjustasystemofsignsbutratherasocialphenomenonthatoccurswithinanetworkofinterpersonalrelationships.InthecontextoftheEnglishclassroom,thismeansthatthewayinwhichteachersinteractwithstudentsshapestheirlearningexperiences.Accordingtointeractiontheory,therearethreekeycomponentstoeffectivecommunication:turn-taking,negotiationofmeaning,andjointattention.Turn-takingreferstothedistributionofspeakingandlisteningroleswithinaconversation.Itisessentialforteacherstorecognizewhentheyaretakingturnsandwhentheyarewaitingfortheirturn.Negotiationofmeaninginvolvestheprocessofresolvingdiscrepanciesinunderstandingbetweenspeakerandlistener.Jointattentionrequiresbothpartiestobefullyengagedintheconversation,payingattentiontoeachother'scontributions.ApplicationofInteractionTheoryinClassroomCorrections:Toapplyinteractiontheorytoclassroomcorrections,teachersmustfirstbecomeawareoftheirownroleasacommunicativepartner.Theyshouldstrivetocreateopportunitiesforstudentstotaketurnsspeakingandengageinmeaningfulexchanges.Forexample,teacherscouldaskquestionsthatrequirestudentstothinkcriticallyaboutthetext,encouragingthemtosharetheirinsightsandopinions.Secondly,teachersshouldactivelyseekoutopportunitiesfornegotiationofmeaning.Thiscouldinvolveaskingclarifyingquestions,offeringfeedbackonstudentresponses,orevensimplyreflectingontheconversationasawhole.Bydoingso,teacherscanhelpstudentsdeveloptheirabilitytounderstandandrespondtodifferentperspectives.Finally,teachersshouldprioritizejointattention.Thismeansfocusingonthecontentoftheconversationandensuringthatallstudentsareengagedandcontributingtothediscussion.Thiscanbeachievedthroughactivelistening,summarizingkeypoints,orevencreatingvisualaidstosupporttheconversation.Conclusion:Inconclusion,theapplicationofinteractiontheorytocollegeEnglishteacherclassroomconversationshasthepotentialtotransformtraditionalapproachestocorrection.Byrecognizingtheimportanceofturn-taking,negotiationofmeaning,andjointattention,teacherscancreateamoredynamicandengaginglearningenvironmentthatbenefitsbothstudentsandteachers.AsSchmidt(2001)notes,"Languageisnotsomethingthathappenstous;wemakeithappen."Byembracinginteractiontheory,collegeEnglishteacherscanplayanactiveroleinshapingthelanguagepracticesoftheirstudents.Inconclusion,theapplicationofinteractiontheorytocollegeEnglishteacherclassroomconversationshasthepotentialtotransformtraditionalapproachestocorrection.Byrecognizingtheimportanceofturn-taking,negotiationofmeaning,andjointattention,teacherscancreateamoredynamicandengaginglearningenvironmentthatbenefitsbothstudentsandteachers.AsSchmidt(2001)notes,"Languageisnotsomethingthathappenstous;wemakeithappen."Byembracinginteractiontheory,collegeEnglishteacherscanplayanactiveroleinshapingthelanguagepracticesoftheirstudents.Thisstudyprovidesvaluableinsightsintohowtoenhanceteacher-studentinteractionsintheEnglishclassroomthroughthelensofinteractiontheory.Ithighlightstheimportanceofunderstandingandincorporatingtheseprinciplesintoclassroompractice,ultimatelyleadingtoimpr
