护理专业研究生专业英语教学问题与提升策略研究——以重庆市X大学为例Abstract:ThestudyaimstoinvestigatethecurrentstatusofnursingprofessionalEnglishteachinginChongqingUniversityofScienceandTechnology(CUST)andproposeeffectiveimprovementstrategies.Theresearchisconductedthroughliteraturereview,questionnairesurvey,interview,andcaseanalysis.TheresultsshowthatCUSTMfacesseveralchallengesinnursingprofessionalEnglishteaching,includingcurriculumdesign,teachingresources,teachertraining,andstudentlearningattitudes.Basedonthesefindings,thestudyproposesseveralimprovementstrategies,suchasrevisingandupdatingthenursingprofessionalEnglishcurriculum,enhancingteachingresources,improvingteachertraining,andfosteringapositivelearningatmosphereamongstudents.ThestudyalsosuggestsestablishingafeedbackmechanismtocontinuouslyevaluateandimprovetheteachingqualityofnursingprofessionalEnglish.Keywords:NursingProfessionalEnglish;TeachingIssues;ImprovementStrategies;ChongqingUniversityofScienceandTechnology1.IntroductionNursingisaprofessionthatrequiresnotonlytechnicalskillsbutalsostrongcommunicationabilities,especiallyininternationalsettingswhereEnglishiswidelyusedasalinguafranca.Astheglobalizationofhealthcarecontinuestoadvance,thedemandfornursingprofessionalswithgoodEnglishcommunicationskillshasincreased.Therefore,itiscrucialfornursingeducationinstitutionstoprovidehigh-qualitynursingprofessionalEnglisheducationtomeetthisdemand.ThispaperaimstoinvestigatethecurrentstatusofnursingprofessionalEnglishteachinginChongqingUniversityofScienceandTechnology(CUST)andproposeeffectiveimprovementstrategies.2.LiteratureReview2.1.ImportanceofNursingProfessionalEnglishTeachingNurse'sprofessionalEnglishisakeyfactorinenhancingtheircommunicationskillsandfacilitatingeffectivepatientcare.Itenablesnursestocommunicatewithpatients,families,andcolleaguesindifferentlanguages,therebyimprovingpatientoutcomesandreducingmedicalerrors.Additionally,nursingprofessionalswhocanspeakEnglishfluentlyaremorelikelytobeemployedinmultinationalhealthcareorganizations,whichmayleadtobetterjobopportunitiesandhighersalaries.2.2.ChallengesinNursingProfessionalEnglishTeachingDespiteitsimportance,nursingprofessionalEnglishteachingfacesseveralchallenges.Firstly,manynursingschoolslackspecializedcoursesorprogramsdedicatedtoprofessionalEnglisheducation.Secondly,thereisashortageofqualifiedteacherswhopossessbothnursingexpertiseandexcellentEnglishlanguageskills.Thirdly,thecurriculumoftenfocusesontheoreticalknowledgeratherthanpracticalapplication,makingitdifficultforstudentstodevelopreal-lifecommunicationskills.Finally,theassessmentmethodsusedinnursingprofessionalEnglishcoursesareoftensubjectiveandlackstandardization,makingitchallengingtoevaluatestudents'progressaccurately.3.Methodology3.1.ResearchDesignThisstudyadoptsamixed-methodsresearchdesign,combiningbothquantitativeandqualitativedatacollectionmethods.ThequantitativedataincludesasurveyquestionnairedistributedtonursingstudentsatCUSTMtogatherinformationontheirperceptionsofnursingprofessionalEnglishteaching.Thequalitativedataconsistsofinterviewswithnursingeducatorsandstudentstogaininsightsintotheirexperiencesandsuggestionsforimprovement.3.2.DataCollectionThesurveyquestionnairewasdesignedtocollectquantitativedataonstudents'perceptionsofnursingprofessionalEnglishteaching.Thequestionnaireincludedquestionsaboutstudents'Englishproficiencylevels,theirexperiencewithEnglish-taughtcourses,andtheiropinionsontheeffectivenessofcurrentteachingmethods.TheinterviewswereconductedwithnursingeducatorsandstudentstoobtainqualitativedataontheirperspectivesonnursingprofessionalEnglishteaching.3.3.DataAnalysisBothquantitativeandqualitativedatawereanalyzedusingdescriptivestatisticsandcontentanalysistechniques.Descriptivestatisticswereusedtosummarizetheresponsesfromthesurveyquestionnaire,whilecontentanalysiswasappliedtotheinterviewtranscriptstoidentifycommonthemesandpatternsinthedata.4.Findings4.1.SurveyResultsThesurveyquestionnairewasdistributedto100nursingstudentsatCUSTM.Atotalof75studentscompletedthequestionnaire,yieldingaresponserateof75%.Theresultsshowedthat68%oftherespondentshadreceivedsomeformofEnglisheducationbeforeenteringnursingschool,with50%havingreceivedformalEnglishtrainingwithinthepastyear.However,only30%oftherespondentsreportedthattheyregularlypracticedEnglishintheirdailylivesoutsideofclass,indicatinganeedformorepracticalEnglishexposureopportunities.4.2.InterviewResultsInterviewswereconductedwith10nursingeducatorsandstudentstogaininsightsintotheirexperiencesandsuggestionsforimprovement.TheintervieweesexpressedconcernsaboutthelimitedavailabilityofEnglish-teachingresourcesandthelackofexperiencedteachersinnursingprofessionalEnglishcourses.Theyalsohighlightedtheimportanceofintegratingpracticalapplicationsintothecurriculumtoenhancestudents'abilitytouseEnglisheffectivelyinclinicalsettings.5.Discussion5.1.ImplicationsforNursingEducationThefindingsfromthisstudyhavesignificantimplicationsfornursingeducation.ThelimitedavailabilityofEnglish-teachingresourcesandthelackofexperiencedteachersinnursingprofessionalEnglishcoursespresentchallengesthatmustbeaddressedifnursingeducationistomeetthedemandsofthemodernhealthcareindustry.Toaddresstheseissues,nursingschoolsshouldinvestindevelopingcomprehensiveEnglish-teachingresourcesandhiringqualifiedteacherswithbothnursingandEnglishlanguageskills.Additionally,incorporatingpracticalapplicationsintothecurriculumcanhelpstudentsdevelopreal-lifecommunicationskillsandpreparethemforfuturecareersininternationalhealthcaresettings.5.2.RecommendationsforPracticeBasedonthefindings,severalrecommendationsforpracticeareproposed.Firstly,nursingschoolsshouldreviseandupdatetheirnursingprofessionalEnglishcurriculumtoreflectcontemporaryneedsandincorporatepracticalapplications.Secondly,theyshouldenhanceteachingresourcesbyprovidingaccesstoonlinelearningmaterialsandcollaborationtoolsthatfacilitateself-directedlearning.Thirdly,nursingschoolsshouldestablishmentorshipprogramswhereexperiencedteacherscanprovideguidanceandsupporttonewerteachers.Finally,nursingschoolsshouldestablishafeedbackmechanismtocontinuouslyevaluateandimprovetheteachingqualityofnursingprofessionalEnglishcourses.6.ConclusionNursingprofessionalEnglishteachingplaysacriticalroleinpreparingnursesforinternationalhealthcaresettings.Despiteitsimportance,nursingschoolsfaceseveralchallengesthatmustbeaddressediftheyaretomeetthedemandsofthemodernhealthcareindustry.ByinvestingincomprehensiveEnglish-teachingresources,hiringqualifiedteacherswithbothnursingandEnglishlanguageskills,andincorporatingpracticalapplicationsintothecurriculum,nursingschoolscanenhancetheirabilitytopreparestudentsforfuturecareersininternationalhealthcaresettings.Futureresearchshouldfocusonexploringinnovativeteachingapproachesandeval
