Next,let'sthinkaboutthestudents.Fourthgradersarearoundnineyearsold.TheyhavebeenlearningEnglishforabouttwoyears,sotheypossessabasicvocabularyandcanunderstandsimpleinstructions.Theyareactive,curious,andeagertoparticipateininterestingactivities.Theyenjoygames,songs,androle-plays,whicharegreattoolswecanutilize.
III.TeachingObjectives
Basedontheaboveanalyses,I'vesetthefollowingteachingobjectives:
1.KnowledgeandSkills:
*Studentswillbeabletolisten,speak,read,andwritethecorevocabulary:schoolbag,Chinesebook,Englishbook,mathsbook,storybook,pencilbox.(Note:Forwriting,wefocusonrecognitionandbasictracingorcopyingatthisstage,dependingonthespecifictextbookarrangement.)
*Studentswillbeabletounderstandandusethekeysentencepatterns:"What'sinyourschoolbag?""AnEnglishbook,amathsbook..."and"Ihaveanewschoolbag./Ihave..."totalkabouttheitemsintheirschoolbags.
*Studentswillbeabletofollowsimpleclassroominstructionsrelatedtothetopicandparticipateindialoguesandactivities.
2.ProcessandMethods:
*Cultivateasenseoforderandcarefortheirschoolthings.
*Encouragecooperationandmutualhelpamongclassmatesduringactivities.

*Song:SinganEnglishsongthey'velearnedbefore,maybeaboutschoolorcolors,toactivatetheclassroomatmosphereandgetthemintoEnglishmode.
Step2:Presentation(Approx.15minutes)
*Introducing"schoolbag":I'llstartbyshowingabig,colorfulschoolbag.MaybeI'llpretendtocarryit,looktired,andsay,"Look!What'sthis?It'saschoolbag.Myschoolbag!"I'llrepeatitseveraltimes,emphasizingthepronunciation.Thenaskthewholeclass,"What'sthis?"toelicit"schoolbag".
