HowanAntennaradiatesAconductingwireradiatesmainlybecauseoftime-varyingcurrentoranacceleration(ordeceleration)ofcharge.Ifthereisnomotionofchargesinawire,noradiationtakesplace,sincenoflowofcurrentoccurs.Radiationwillnotoccurevenifchargesaremovingwithuniformvelocityalongastraightwire.However,chargesmovingwithuniformvelocityalongacurvedorbentwirewillproduceradiation.Ifthechargeisoscillatingwithtime,thenradiationoccursevenalongastraightwire.
