It is named after Dr. Henry Jay Heimlich (born Henry Judah Heimlich; Februa
21、ry 3, 1920), an American physician who received credit as the inventor of the maneuver. The Heimlich maneuver can be used safely on both adults and children, but most experts do not recommend it for infants less than 1 year old.
