1、MTBE DRYING COLUMN SYSTEM STARTUP FROM T&INOTE: This is for Training only, and is not intended to be used as a step by step procedure.PO/MTBEMTBE DRYING COLUMN SYSTEM STARTUP FROM T&IPurposeThe purpose of this procedure is to prepare the MTBE Drying Column System to receive feed from upstream equipm
2、ent following maintenance. The system will need to initially accept enough feed material from upstream equipment to establish a total reflux condition of the equipment being started up. The act of placing the system in total reflux is to apply the proper amount of reboiler steam flow to create enoug
3、h vapors in the overhead system to maintain a steady and continuous reflux flow rate while the reflux drum level controller is in Automatic control.ConditionsThe MTBE Drying Column System has been repaired and the equipment is ready to return to service.NOTE: Air or oxygen can form a potentially exp
4、losive mixture with hydrocarbons, therefore, nitrogen purge all process lines and equipment to atmosphere until process lines and equipment is less than 3% oxygen. Do not nitrogen purge to the blowdown system or the flare system.NOTE: This is for Training only, and is not intended to be used as a st
5、ep by step procedure.PO/MTBEGUIDELINEEnsure the following items are completed: all pump suction and discharge valves are open. all control valves are lined up with closed control valves. all control valve bypasses are closed. the column and associated equipment instrumentation has been connected and
6、 ready for service. all insulation is in place for personal protection. all control valves have been verified for proper operation. all isolation blinds have been turned to the proper operating position as per the Visual Inspection Blind Removal Procedure. all utility connections have been turned aw
7、ay from the vessels, blocked in on the vessel and blinded.Verify block valves and line ups are in proper position on the MTBE Drying Column System to air free piping and equipment.Ensure entire system has been pressured tested before introducing hydrocarbons into system.Open the following block valv
8、es in preparation of bringing hydrocarbon into the MTBE Drying Column: Open the downstream block valve on the trap tray control valve. Open the downstream block valve on the water boot controller. Open the block valve downstream of FE on product out line. Open the MTBE Product valve at the battery l
9、imits. Open the downstream block valve on the control valve from the discharge of 01P0544-A/B pumps. Open the outlet block valve to the Finishing Reactor from the discharge of 01P0543-A/B pumps. Open the block valve downstream of HV to the HP Vent Gas Header from thebalancing line. Open the block va
10、lve downstream of PVto the MTBE Stripper Column Reflux Drum 01D0582 from the balancing line. Lineup Isobutylene from OSBL into the top of the MTBE Dring Column Reflux Drum.Build inventory to approx. 80% in reflux drum. Start 01P0528 reflux pump to pump isobutylene from the MTBE Drying Column reflux
11、drum into the Drying Column. Open reflux control valve and establish reflux flow to build inventory in the bottom of the MTBE Drying Column. Establish a level in the bottom of the MTBE Drying Column. Open the S4 steam control valve to begin heating the column. Monitor the bottom temperature in the M
12、TBE Drying Column 01C0577. Establish total reflux on the MTBE Drying Column. Bottom of column should be closed at this time, the column only contains Isobutylene at this time, do not put bottom product to tankage. Overpressure of MTBE tanks could occur. Increase the isobutylene feed rate from 01P054
13、4-A/B to the MeOH Extractor 01C0576 using control valve in auto/local to achieve the isobutylene to the recovery overhead feed ratio. As the unit is started up and feed forward is established on the MTBE One- Step Reactors and MTBE Recovery Column, MTBE will begin to enter the MTBE Drying Column. Mo
14、nitor bottom analyzers, adjust column conditions are required to get MTBE product to meet specifications. Lineup bottom product to either on test tankage or off test tankage, this will depend on product quality. Place bottom of MTBE Drying Column on level control.When flow is started from bottom of MTBE Drying Column to tankage, monitor tank level an
