14、ting the table. Use the fork, spoon and knife provided most Americans dont have chopsticks. Dont over fill your plate, you can ask for “seconds” if you are still hungry. This actually tells the cook that you like their food. If the host asks you to eat more and you are full or dont like the food say
15、, “No thank you, Im stuffed.” Or “Thank you but Im full.” This is the most polite way of saying “no” If you dont want to eat something or it doesnt taste good to you, just leave it on your plate. Always offer to help clean up the dishes and or table.,Styles of cooking:,Home style more traditional Am
16、erican food. I.e.: casseroles, beef, boiled food, very little seasoning. Regions: Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Carolinas, Virginia, Utah, etc. Southern style Deep fried food, spicy food, very heavy, hearty food. I.e.: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried bread, pies. Gourmet style Rich food, small portions, contains unusual meats and vegetables, uses heavy sauces, beautifully presented food Regions: Washington, D.C., New York City & LA Light style Meat and veggies are steamed or grilled, light favor, uses a lot of lemon, uses little or olive oil.
