the resistance to abrasion of paints, varnishes and other organic coatings which have bean applied t o metallic or rigid non metallic substrates. definition abrasion resistance as determined by this test method shall be defined as a meaaure of the effect of sand, falling from a defined height onto the inclined surface of the coating. test pieces and rumber o f test pieces square test pieces of at least zomm side lengths shall be taken, smallercomponents shall be placed together and adhered t o the test piece holder t o make up the minimum side length. in the case o f test on organic coatings, it is also permissible t o use specially prepared square test panels with at least 20mm side length. thes panels shall be made from steel to us i010 zl or bs 1449:part 1:1972cr 2/1 ff or cs 2/1 ff. the quality of the organic coating and its method of application shgll be as per current final finish prodedures appropriate t o the envisagedapplication o f the, material under test.the organic coating shall be i n accordance t o the relevant material specification. for details of current finishes see g e c 0001.for i n i t i a l sample approval, arbitration purposes and routine quality schichtdicke: 3,01f15ml prfsand 6.4nach i00 durchlufen ist der prfsand vollstndig zu erneuern. 7.durchfhrunq die durchfhrung -der iabriebfestigkeit erfolgt bei +23c+5k.zu beachten ist da der zu prfende probekrper ebenfalls auf diese temperatur angeglichen werden mu.7.1die schichtdicke der beschichtung wird auf +-2 /um genau bestimmt. 7.2der probekrpgr wird fest auf dem halteblech aufgebracht und unter einem winkel von 45und einem abstand von 25,4 mm hinterkante auslaufrohr-ber- flche probekrper fest i n dem prfgert montiert. das fallrohr mu wahrend der prfung senkrecht und unverrckbar angebracht sein. 7.2.1probekrper m i t einem krmmungsradius von r e 100mm mssen so i m prfgert befestigt werden, da der berhrungspunkt der tangente, die parallel zur auflage verluft, genau auf der interruption into the feed funnel and allowed to drop via the guide tube onto the surface of the test piece and subsequent11 be pollected i n a suitable vessel.the collected test sand shall then be returned t o the feed funnel, and the process repeated until the ab5asive-effect of the test medium has removed an area of approximately 35mm of the coating, and the substrate is visible.the total pos. 6.3) ohne verzgerung in den trichter geschttet oder aus einem vorratsgef i n das rohr geleitet. der sand f a l l t durch das fhrungs- rohr auf den probekrper und anschlieend i n ein geeignetes auffanggef. mitldem aufgetangenen prfsand wird dieser gorgang solange wiederholt, bis von der beschichtung eine flche von e35mmabgerieben ist und der trger- werkstoff sichtbar wird.die gesamtmenge des
