RedWolfRecoveryProgramandledbyFWS.By1980,redwolveswerebelievedtobeextinctinthewild.

Luckily,thewolvesdidwellincaptivity,andtheirnumberscontinuedtogrow.Soon,theFWSbeganreleasing

(放生)redwolvesbackintothewild.Between1987and1994,therecoveryprogramreleased60adultredwolves.

Overtime,thosewolvesspreadout,pairedup,andbegantohavepups.In2008,therewere47wildpupsborn.

By2012,redwolfnumbershadhitanewhighpointofabout120wolvesinthewild.
