Ride Comfort Harsher ride More road noise2. Decreased Load Carrying Capacity3. Road Hazard Durability More prone to impact damage (i.e. potholes)The HALP concept was invented for the SUV or luxury vehicle owner who wants a low profile appearance without the sacrifice in ride comfort.BackgroundLow profile tyres have serious disadvanges for a vehicle like this Ford F150.These disadvantages are acceptable for a high performance vehicle. However, they are less acceptable for SUV and luxury vehicle owners. The removable flange extension (2) is bolted on to the rim after tyre mounting. The dimension of the gap between tyre and flange extension will be tuned based on performance testing.Presentation Title and AgendaKumho European Tech CentreApplicationsAftermarket: For the discerning customer wants improved ride comfort for their luxury vehicle or SUV, or needs more load capacity, such as for towing.OE Specification: HALP may be very attractive to OE customers. It will relieve pressure on the suspension designers who seek to achieve the best balance of ride and handling.The Infiniti FX45 set an industry precedent by having optional 20” rims, however it was criticized for its harsh ride. HALP would fix this problem.The owner of this GMC Denali has equipped it with 22” aftermarket rims. The maximum gross weight of this vehicle is 3256 kg. The tyre load limit is 3300 kg if equippe
