few weedks on the development of serious theaters in united states ,looking int the plays and play writers of the early 1900s.our next unit is on american musical theater.this type of theater developed from both serious and popular art forms,like opera, dance ,drama and from a form of entainment called vaudeville,which is where we will start today.vaudevill shows originated in europe and by the 1800s become a popular form o entainment in america .they were basically a variety of shows ,featuring several live entainer ,singer ,dancer, magician ,acrobat and trained animals, it is as many as ten acts that largely unrelated in theme or style. by the early 1900, vaudeville theater had sprang up in all large cities, in the large theater, there were usually two performances a day ,some theater would come to be four performances a day , but with the introduction of silent films ,live performance had to compete with movie theaters, and vaudeville attendance started to decline ,some vaudeville theater started to show some movies as well, movies were showing between vaudeville act, that kept people for coming to vaudeville for a while, but when talking films arrived ,vaudeville faced even stiffer competition ,and then with the great depression in the 1930s when the americans has less income to spend on entainment and the growth of radio and around television programme,vaudeville experienced a further decline, pretty disappeared entirely by the end of the second world war2.we have been discussing some factors that influence the globe climate today we are of the prominent are the minoan and the mycenaean .the minoan lived on the island of kuit,they did extensive trade by sea trading farm products and highly priced bronze objects they made ,things like weapons and tools, they established a trading network or trading colonies through the east of mediterranean ,and these became great commercial centers ,these commercial centers produced real wealth ,and the minoans used these wealth to build palace and acre duct. the minoan civilization reached its peak in the sixteen century b.c. but they gradually lost its dominance to the mycenaean who were from the -land ,well north of the crete, the mycenaean actually learned a lot about sea trade from the minoan ,but this mentor relationship changed after a volcano erupted on the island of - in 415b.c,that devastated minoan ships and destroyed important part of crete. after that, the mycenaean become the dominant sea trader of this area,well,we know that natural disaster might have been largely responsible for the decline of the minoan sea trade,but reasons for the decline of the mycenaean sea trade are more controversial ,the key factor may have been the political unrest both
