.purpose to integrate theory with practice, to test the ability of cooperating and other comprehensive capacities needed in society, and to have a better understanding of society and knowledge, and also to know we really like and what we truly want to be,to try to learn some basic skills we need both in our future career and in society.content during the internship, i work in zhejiang province wuyi better trailer manufacturing co., ltd, the company sells tandem tipping trailer, camping trailer, box trailer, cage trailer, tandem trailer, atv trailer, motorbike trailer, boat trailer, garden trailer, and other trailers. because of the limited time, i can just operate alibaba online platform, release and manage product information, update the website so it is more possible for the customer to search our products. besides, i also read the emails written by the trade salesman and the customer. as i am not constrained to a fixed job, i can occasionally go around and see how the workers do their job, i know how different machines work; i see with my own eyes how the raw materials transform to different parts, and how to assemble a trailer. i realize the whole procedure of producing a trailer and the help from related industries.gains now i know completely and clearly the procedure of international trade. that is, if a customer needs a certain goods, he will search it on the internet, and then he will inquire the salesman by msn or email, later they will negotiate till they reach an agreement. the buyer and the seller agree on the terms of sale, specifying a documentary credit as the means of payment, naming an advising bank and listing required documents, which means they have a contract. the buyer then applies to the issuing bank and opens a documentary credit naming the seller as beneficiary based on specific terms and conditions that are listed in the credit. the issuing bank checks the condition of the applicant, and if he meets the standards, the issuing bank approves the application and then sends the documentary credit to the advising bank named in the credit. the advising bank informs the seller of the documentary credit. sometimes the seller might not agree with the terms and conditions in the letter of credit, such as the seller may find the time may be too short to effect shipment or certain documents may not be available, then he will have to contact the buyer immediately and request an amendment. then the buyer will order the issuing bank to make an amendment and they will have a new deal and contract. the seller ships the goods to the buyers shipping agent and obtains a negotiable bill of lading from it. the seller prepares and presents a document package to the advising bank consisting of the negotiable bill of lading and other documents as required by the buyer in the documentary credit. the advising bank reviews the document package making certain the documents are in conformity with the terms of the credit and pays the seller. the advising bank sends the documentation package by mail or by courier to the issuing bank. the issuing bank reviews the document package making certain the documents are in conformity with the terms of the credit and pays the advising bank and then advises the buyer that the documents have arrived. the buyer reviews the document package making certain the documents are in conformity with the terms of the credit and makes a cash payment to the issuing bank. the issuing bank sends the document package by mail or by courier to the buyer who then takes possession of the shipment. the real trade is much more complicated than this, but this is the general procedure of the international trade and is the most widely used in international trade. during the transactions, we should pay special attention to the four roles: the buyer, the issuing bank, the advising bank, and the seller. the success or failure of a trade depends largely on the wording of the documentary credit itself. so the buyer should adhere to the greatest extent possible to the terms and conditions of the original contractual agreement, keeping the specifications clear and concise. the wording in a documentary credit should be simple but specific and the buyer should completely and precisely set forth the details of the agreement. on receiving the buyers application, the issuing bank checks the credit of the applicant, determines whether cash security is necessary, and scrutinizes the contents of the application to see whether they generally are consistent with national and international banking and legal requirements. if the application is satisfactory to the bank, the buyer and the issuing bank will sign an agreement to open a documentary credit. the issuing bank usually sends the original documentary credit to the seller through the advising bank. upon the receipt of the credit, the advising bank will examine it carefully and confirm the seller, and then the bank forwards the credit to the seller. upon receipt of the documentary credit, the seller should immediately and carefully examine it to ensure in conforms with the original sales contract with the buyer and that all the conditions stated in the credit can be met. if any of its conditions have to be amended, the seller should immediately contact the buyer. the greatest problem associated with documentary credits is discrepancies with documents as they are prepared, presented, and reviewed by sellers, buyers, and the banks. all parties have the obligation to check the documentation to make certain it is in order and all parties are at risk for failing to do so properly. so i know almost every detail throughout the foreign trade. i also master the format and the common used phrases and sentences in business email. such as, “we warmly welcome your enquiry of april 16th and thank you for your interest in our products.” “much to our delight, our manufacture have decided to advance their delivery to you” and “we are looking forward to the pleasure of hearing from you soon”,” after careful consideration, we regret to say that we can not but decline the said order” ,”we are at disposal for any further information and we are waiting for your early reply. ” “your compliance with our request will be highly appreciated”. a successful business letter should always contain: letterhead, reference number, date, inside address, particular address, salutation, subject, body of letter, complimentary close, signature, initials, enclosure carbon copy notion and sometimes postscript. besides, i also learn to use duplicator, printer, fax, and scanning machine. in addition, i also see many documents, such as, commercial invoice, marine bill of lading, charter party bill of lading, courier receipt, certificate of origin, packing list, insurance document, and others. i can calculate different prices, such as, fob, which means free on board named port of shipment, and cfr is fob price plus the freight of transporting to the port of destination, and also cif price. i know how management principles are implemented in the real world. here, i learn first-hand how companies handle changes, how employees are related to each other, and how to operate as a new manager, the role would depend on the business situation as well as on the individuals with whom he interacts.i realize what society really is, it looks like an intricate net, people here are not isolated, while they are closely connected. more than one time, we need some special screws, we have to search them in the hardware shop one by one in the market cause without them we can not export the trailer. and also, some people are indifferent while some are warm-hearted and full of hospitality. so i realize that people are different, you are you, while they are themselves. we cant always expect them to support our view; we shall sometimes have to accept the society as it is.problems and solutions1. my listening is not quite good. although i can do well in english reading, there is much to do for me to understand the various situations provided by foreign customers. i cant completely understand their meaning, sometimes; i can only understand a few words. besides, my pronunciation and intonation are not very well. i should listen to more english materials, take every chance to practice my oral english and pay more attention to pronunciation and intonation from now on so that i can communicate fluently and effectively with foreigners.2. translation is also my weakness as i cant translate english into idiomatic chinese, though i myself understand the general meaning. i should pay more attention to translation and try to have a good command of both languages so i can use them fluently in the future.3. i dont know much jargon, terms, and the names of machine and other related vocabularies. i can only say some simple words; i should try to memorize and accumulate more words, and the more the better. and i should remember the common used phrase and sentence in the email so that i can well use it in the future.4. cross-cultural communication is very vital when doing business with foreigners, as you are living in and influenced by different culture, we should never ignore this fact and we should respect their customs and their way of living and mind our behavior. when we know their taboo, we will try to avoid it, so that we will not embarrass them and both of us will have a good day and benefit from the successful business. however, on the other hand, if we fail to know their habits and culture, it may cause misunderstandings and may ruin the business and lose many potential customers. we should try our best to know different culture now so that we will not make mistakes when we are doing business with foreigners. 5. communication is important in society, i was absolutely not a born sociable man, i would never be the one who break the ice during the conversation. the internship rightly provides me with a good chance to train my ability of communication. i have made some progress now and made many friends. communication is an essential part because you may need help from others someday. and i realize the importance of cooperation.6. carefulness is a vital weakness in the future work. you cant be too careful when doing both domestic and international business, because even a word will cause too much trouble or even the failure of the business in the foreign trade. just like the wording in the credit of letter and
