Reading How do you deal with your problem?Teaching goals:Talk about how to deal with our problems in our life. To get the students master the following words and expressions : deal with, unless, unfair, solve, regard, duty, easily, influence, be angry with, go by, friendship, lose, disagreement, development, adult, try ones best, unimportant, face, soldier, break off. To train the students use dictionaries and make sure that the definitions they find in dictionaries match the context. To get the students know that problems exist in our life and we should hold the correct attitude towards them and try to solve them in good ways.Preview:Look up the meaning of each word in the box in a dictionary.deal(v.) _ unless(conj.) _ unfair(adj.) _ affect(v.) _ solve(v.) _ challenge(n.) _regard(v.)_ smart(adj.) _ duty(n.) _instead(adv.) _Step 1. Warming up and leading in:T: Hello, everyone! In the last lesson we have solved the problems of learning English. Now look around ourselves, we are healthy and happy. But can you imagine what we would do if you couldnt speak or move? S: Its terrible. I think I would do nothing and waited until I died.T: Really? Now lets know about a very famous scientist- Stephen Hawking. (Show a picture of him). He said its not a problem its a challenge, enjoy facing it.T: we usually have many problems in our life. If we deal with them well, well be happy. If not, they will have bad effects on us. So how do we deal with our problems?(设计意图:本环节先以著名人物史蒂芬霍金为切入点,引入本课的话题;然后介绍史蒂芬霍金的不平凡的人生经历。呈现文中的部分生词和短语为学生的阅读扫除部分障碍。)Step 2.Fast readingTask 1:Tell the students to look at the title and predict what will be talked about in the article according to the title.(设计意图:要求学生根据标题预测本课内容,旨在培养学生的想象力和逻辑思维能力。)Task 2: Let the students read the article fast and answer the question: Read the article quickly and try to find at least three ways to solve problems. (设计意图:要求学生快速浏览全文,找出三种解决问题的方法,旨在引导学生运用略读技巧,初步了解文章的主要内容。)Step 3:Careful reading:Task 1.Read paragraph 1 ,complete the sentences. Write a passage showing how you solve one of your problem in which the structure by doing something must be used.反思:本课是一节阅读课,在学习如何学习英语的基础上进一步学习如何处理个人问题,是学习内容的进一步深化,是理解和运用知识的提升。本课中,我以史蒂芬霍金为切入点,以他不平凡的一生引出本课话题。使用到的阅读策略是根据上下文猜测词义。在教学过程中,我把阅读策略的使用贯穿始终。让学生通过速读快速掌握文章主旨大意,通过细读让学生了解了文章的细节, 加强信息的输入,发展学生的阅读能力。并引导学生利用篇章所提供的信息进行交际活动。让学生在课堂上学有所得,并在活动中展示交流,进而促进了语言的输出。另外,我在本课的教学过程中也有一些不足之处。在细读环节中没能为学生建立完善的思维导图,我还需要不断的完善课堂教学为,为学生的语言发展把好脉。当堂检测答案:一1. deal 2. affect 3. probably 4. friendships 5. learning二1
