济南大学 硕士学位论文 埃兹拉庞德“诗歌意象”的符号学诠释 姓名：朱立志 申请学位级别：硕士 专业：外国语言学及应用语言学 指导教师：翟丽霞 20070508 摘要 作为著名的意象派诗人和现代主义之父，埃兹拉庞德( e z r a p o u n d ，1 8 8 5 - 1 9 7 2 ) 是二十世纪英美文坛举足轻重的人物之一。他所倡导的意象派诗歌运动开英美现代诗 歌之先河，揭开了现代主义诗歌的序幕。 庞德发起诗歌改革并提出了新的诗歌创作原则，其核心是意象。庞德把意象视作 符号。受叶芝和福特的影响，庞德借鉴了叶芝的象征主义理论和福特的印象主义理论 的精华后，寻求到了一种通过联想把主观情感和自然客体结合在一起的有效途径。因 此，庞德的意象是诗人主观情意与客观现实的复合体，包含了符号学的思想。而且， 他强调诗歌意象就是语言，要讲究直接、简练和音乐美。 自费尔迪南德索绪尔提出语言符号的任意性原则以来，国内外的一些语言学 家先后对此提出了或支持或反对的意见。本文在索绪尔语言符号任意性论断的基础 上，通过对诗歌符号的理据性特征的研究，提出对诗歌意象的符号学诠释模式。作者 以庞德诗歌中的意象作为诠释文本，所例举的诗歌全都出自庞德早期的意象诗作。 在其普通语言学教程中，索绪尔指出了符号能指与所指的关系。索氏认为符 号的能指与所指是任意地联系在一起的，意义即所指是约定俗成的。但对于诗歌符号 来说，诗歌的能指蕴涵在所指之中，非人为约定，能为读者所获知。因此，诗歌符号 是理据符号。而诗歌符号就是由诗人预设并通过作品创造的总意象。 本文主要探讨了诗歌意象的符号特性，就意象的能指、所指和意指进行了详尽的 分析，试图从符号学的角度来诠释意象。能指就是意象中的“象”，所指就是意象蕴 藉的“意”。正如符号是能指与所指的结合体，“象”与“意”的结合构成了意象。“象” 中含“意”，“意”诉诸于“象”。 诠释意象诗歌，在很大程度上，就是对诗歌中的意象所指的把握，而意象所指和 意象的能指存在着理据性的意指关系。因此，意象能指的辨识和确立就成为诠释意象 诗歌的关键。 通过对诗歌总意象的结构分析，本文提出了诠释意象诗歌的两个模式：切分和组 合。切分是将总意象逐级分解成主意象，再将主意象分解成具体意象。组合则是从具 体意象着手，逐级组合成主意象直至形成总意象。 关键词：埃兹拉庞德；诗歌意象；符号学；符号；理据性 i l l a b s t r a c t a saw e l l k n o w nm o d e mi m a g i s ta n df a t h e ro fm o d e r n i s m ，e z r ap o u n d ( 1 8 8 5 -
