FEES INFORMATION 2013/14DO YOU HAVE TO PAY?If you are aged: 16 to 18 years you do not have to pay tuition or exam fees. 19 or over you will have to pay all course fees, unless eligible for free tuition fees (see the Fee Waivers section below). 24 or over you may be eligible for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan to cover your fees for level 3 and 4 courses (see 24+ Advanced Learning Loans section below).IF YOU HAVE TO PAYTo secure a place on your chosen course, you must pay on enrolment or you must agree bank payments under a direct debit instruction. A single fee is charged to cover tuition fees, awarding body registration fees, examination or certification fees and other course related costs. Separate charges are payable for special equipment, materials, uniforms, etc and for educational trips. You must pay these charges in full on enrolment, even where a fee waiver is applicable. Equipment, material, uniform, etc remain your property at the end of the course. For courses of more than one year, fees are payable separately for each year of study. For certain courses, fees may be taken in advance for linked courses to be started later in the academic year. If you do not proceed to the next stage a full refund of fees paid towards the additional course(s) will be made. PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTSYou may pay by cash, credit or debit card, or by cheque or by direct debit. There is no instalment facility for fees below 100. These must be paid in full on enrolment unless otherwise agreed with the Company Accountant. Where tuition fees exceed 100 a 10% discount will be applied if the fees are paid in full at the time of enrolment (regardless of who is paying fees). Exclusions include invoiced fees, fully costed courses and some other courses, such as short courses lasting less than ten weeks. Direct debit payments are available for fees of 100 or more and where the course exceeds one term. On enrolment you must complete and sign a direct debit instruction and pay a deposit of 1/6th of the total fees. For courses starting in the autumn term we will then collect five equal instalments, payable on or near the middle of September, October, November, December and February. For other courses, a separate direct debit plan will be made available. Instalments are only available if you pay by direct debit. If you have applied for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan to pay your fees, you will need to provide evidence of the loan approval at enrolment otherwise you must pay the fees as set out above. If you opt to use your loan for part of the fees you will be required to pay the balance at enrolment. If your employer or sponsor pays the fees after enrolment, on enrolment you must provide either: a formal letter on headed paper detailing thecosts covered,or a completed Employer Undertaking form.Employer fees are payable in full on receipt of an invoice. Instalment plans and discounts are not available to employers or sponsors who agree to pay for you in this way. If your employer, sponsor or lender fails to pay, you will be responsible for the payment of any remaining balance of the full course fees regardless of whether or not you have attended. If you do not maintain the agreed payments you may be suspended from your course and not allowed to sit any examination or receive any qualification. REFUNDS AND TRANSFERSThe full fee for a course is payable even if you decide not to complete the course. A fee refund or waiver will only be made if you; withdraw from a course and inform us in writing or by e-mail before the start date. In such cases an administration fee of 10 will be deducted from your refund. successfully claim a refund on the grounds of quality and you have followed our complaints procedure for any such consideration. are unable to attend because we have cancelled the course.You will not be given a refund if you; attend all or part of a course which is scheduled to last no more than ten weeks. attend for more than two weeks when the full fee applies unless there is a proven significant change in your circumstances. FEE WAIVERSYou may be entitled to a free course if you are; aged 19 to 23 and it is your first full level 2 or 3 course. (Level 2 is equivalent to five GCSEs grade C or above and level 3 is equivalent to two A levels.). This also applies if you attend a level 1 course if it is needed as a step up to your first full level 2 course. a former member of British Armed Forces and it is your first full level 3 course. This is regardless of your age but you need to have left the Armed Forces within the last ten years. able, at enrolment, to provide evidence of being in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance Work Related Activity Group (ESA WRAG). This must be an entitlement within six weeks of the course start date. a named adult dependant of someone who is in receipt of one of these benefits and who is not earning. Additionally, fees may be waived if you; are unemployed, and want to enter employment, and need skills training to do so or to help to remove a barrier to employment, and are in receipt of one of the following state benefits:o Council Tax Benefit o Housing Benefito Income Supporto Working Tax Credito Carers Allowanceo Child Benefito Child Tax Credito Childs Special Allowanceo Disability Living Allowanceo Employment and Support Allowance (non WRAG)o Guardians Allowanceo Incapacity BenefitIn these cases you will be required to sign a self-declaration form and provide evidence of the benefit.Further details on waivers are available from the Company Personal Development Co-ordinator on 01752 20226324+ ADVANCED LEARNING LOANS From 1st August 2013 loans are available if you are aged 24 or over to cover the costs of studying a level 3 or 4 course, including QCF certificates and diplomas, Access to Higher Education, A levels (max of four), and Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.
