Unit 5 First aid Using language,高二人教新课标版必修五,Heroic teenager receives award,Reading and discussing,Discuss the following situation in groups of four.,Suppose you hear someone screaming and you find him sitting on the ground, bleeding heavily from deep knife wounds in his hands, what would you do? Will you help him? Will you call the police and ambulance, or whether you perform first aid?,When we read newspaper articles, we may only want to get a quick idea of a newspaper article and do not want to know all the details. For this reason, we might just read the headline and the first paragraph. This is because the headline gives readers a clue about the content and the first paragraph gives the most important information.,The story is about a young man who sets us a good example because he could save ones life using his knowledge of first aid.,What do you think the article is about by reading the headline and the first paragraph?,Read the text and fill in the blanks.,Screaming,Front garden,Task 1,The Lifesaver Awards,tea towels,dress,applying,slow the bleeding,high school,Answer these questions,Task 2,He was honoured for giving lifesaving first aid on his neighbour after a shocking knife attack.,1. Before you listen, read the words below and guess the topics the teacher will ask questions about. Finally roll him along the ground. until the fire goes out. Make sure that he is bending forwards. Then give him five quick, hard slaps between the shoulder blades with your hand. Dont let him put his weight on his injured ankle. tell him to put his foot up on a chair. Make sure to put some ice on his ankle to bring down the swelling.
