Greetings. Presentation.1. Show the pupils the wall calendar. Point to each month. Tell the pupils this is one month. Show the pupils and read aloud the names of the days of the week from Monday to Sunday. Count the days in one month. Ask the pupils How many months are there?If they know the names of the months,ask them to say after you the names of the months in order, using the calendar if necessary.2. Show transparency. Point to the calendar Pat is holding and the close-up of it at the bottom of the page. Read the conversation between Pat and Koko. Ask the pupils to repeat the conversation after you. Let them finish reciting the names of the months by themselves. III.Practice1.Ask the pupils Which month is it? Whats the date today?2.Make a quiz for the pupils . Write the names of the months using the letters in the wrong order. Also mix up the order of the months, for example ,GASTUU=August. Tell the pupils to unscramble the letters. See who can be first to finish. 3.Play Bingo using the months of the year.IV.Workbook ( p.1)Tell the pupils to look at the months in the box and write the correct months in the word puzzle. Two of the months will not be used. Then ask the pupils to complete the sentence by writing the correct month of Sams birthday. Add th to numbers 4 to 20.4 Point to number1. Ask the pupils if they know what we add next to 1 when we say dates.5 Repeat the procedure to teach second and third.6 Pick a pupils birthday. Ask the pupils to stand up. Then tell the rest of the class (names) birthday si in (month).Repeat the procedure with other pupils birthdays. Practice1 (Books open.) Ask the pupils to read after the courseware.2 Ask the pupils to work in pairs to role-play Koko and Ken.3 (B3) Play the courseware for the pupils to listen and repeat,Ask the pupils to listen once more. Some groups may like to come out to the front and act the story.4 Play the courseware and ask the pupils to listen to the sound and the words.5 Say the words slowly and clearly. Check that the pupils are saying the sound correctly.6 Point to the pictures and check that the pupils can say the words without your model.7 Play the courseware again. Ask the pupils to follow the poem.8 Tell them to circle the same letters with the same sound. Get the pupils to repeat the poem. Practice.1 Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and listen to the courseware.2 Check the answer with the pupils. They should follow the example in the pictures on Page 6.2 Within their groups, the pupils find out the birthdays of their group members in order to get into order of date.3 Ask each pupil to cut out the train car on Page 77. Tell them to stick or draw a picture of themselves and write the date of their birthday on the carriage.4 Tell the pupils to line up in order of their birthdays and to present their train by saying who is the first, the second, the third and so on. Task One The pupils display the birthday trains on the board. Ask the pupils to sing the Happy Birthday song for each month, replacing the third line Happy Birthday, dear (name) with Your birthdays in (month). Workbook (P. 2&P.3)1 (P2) Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and listen to the courseware. Ask the pupils to write the correct months according to what they hear on the tape.2 (P3) Ask the pupils to look at the picture and listen to the courseware. Ask the pupils to circle the correct dates for the peoples birthdays according to what they hear on the tape. Ask the pupils What do we do on Childrens Day? Suggest and mime making a card, singing a song, writing a poem or draw a picture.4 Show Transparency. Play the courseware and point to the speech bubbles. Ask the pupils to repeat after the courseware. Practice1 (Books open.) Show Transparency. Point to the photo album Tim is holding and ask the pupils to tell you the names of the holidays shown in each picture. Read the conversation between Tim and Koko. Give each group three months, e.g. January to March, April to June, July to September or October to Decembe. Ask them to find how many holidays there are in their three months, what their names are and what people usually do on those holidays. They should circle the correct date and the pictues of the thing that the girl is going to do on that holiday.
