题组层级快练16 Unit 1 Women of achievement. 阅读理解(2017大庆市)I am a 21yearold boy, and this is my story. One month after I graduated from high school in 2009, I was coming home from swim practice and was involved in a car accident. I was so seriously injured that I was in a coma(昏迷) for over two months at Prince Georges Hospital.I died eight times during my coma and I couldnt talk or communicate when I woke up. Walking was never going to happen again due to all the extreme injuries. Just like my body, my dreams were almost shattered. But I was not going to let my injuries prevent me from living my dreams. After 14 operations and blood transfusions, I had to learn how to talk, eat, walk, shower and live independently again. When I was out of hospital, I still had to go to outpatient therapy in Waldorf, Maryland. After spending a few months in a wheelchair, I took baby steps to walk on my own. It was a miracle that I could walk again, but I wanted to prove that I could not only walk, but run. When it came true, I wanted to get back in the pool again. After a few lung tests, I was able to go in the pool a little bit each week. After a few months of swim training, I began my freshman year at St.Marys College of Maryland and became a proud member of the swim team.By telling my story, I want to make a positive influence on the world. I am just trying to live each day to the fullest and inspire other people never to give up their dreams no matter how bad a situation is. I remember when I was still in my hospital bed, I would have my mom and dad push me around in my wheelchair to the other rooms to see the other patients and talk to them and their families. I wanted to let them know that everything was going to be okay. Somehow, things would work out for the best.1. Just like my body, my dreams were almost shattered”联系上下文可知,作者此时很痛苦,像是身体和梦想都被“毁灭,摧毁”了一样。3. I couldnt talk or communicate when I woke up .”以及“After 14 operations and blood transfusions .” “By telling my story, I want to make a positive influence on the world.” (2017贵州遵义高三模拟)I walked to Mrs. Windsors house and waited outside. She was working with another student, and I was not supposed to bother them by ringing the bell. I stood against the wall and daydreamed what Id rather be doing. I had been tutored enough to read, understand, and even write some musical compositions, but I just didnt have a gift for it. Mrs. Windsor had offered to give me the lessons for free, so I felt my duty to try.The door opened and Wendy Barton came out. I walked in, sat down on the piano bench and began to sort through my sheet music. Today Mrs. Windsor introduced her niece Pasha to teach me. With a smile, Pasha sat beside me on the piano bench, opened my sheet music to the beginning page and asked me to play. I arranged my fingers on the keys and studied the notes on the page for a moment. Then I frowned(皱眉) and concentrated to make the notes on the page match the finger movements. I had to admit I was a rather mechanical (呆板的) pianist. After about a page or two, Pasha gently put her hand on top of mine as if to calm my fingers. There was a long pause. “What are you hearing in the music? ” I looked at her rather strangely and admitted I didnt know what she meant. “Like a story. Here, let me try and you listen,” Pasha advised. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, letting her fingers dance lightly over the keys. Then, she began to play. “See, it begins here beside some kind of river. Hear the water flowing beside you? ”Her fingers rose and fell gently on the keys. “Now the princess appears and shes picking flowers from the waters edge.” A happy piece of music filled the air in time to Pashas dancing fingers. “Oh, but she slips! ” The music changed. “And our princess is being carried off by the fastflowing stream. Quickly, the princess horse sees her plight (困境) and races to the rivers edge where he swims out to let her catch hold of him. Luckily, they make it to the bank.” Pasha said.I played many pieces of music that afternoon, finding the stories in the music and learning that sometimes it takes a friend to pull you out of the river onto dry land again.5. By describing herself as a mechanical pianist, the author meant _A. she could remember the notes in a short timeB. she was playing the piano without emotionC. her fingers couldnt move freelyD. it had been a long time since she played last time6. Which of the following can best describe Pasha? A. Creative. B. Honest.C. Humorous. D. Brave.7. Pashas magic of playing the piano lies in that she _A. imagined herself as a princessB. knew its original background storyC. had a strong desire to make a friendD. combined the music with a story8. Which of the following is the best title for the text? A. A Friend ForeverB. Never Give upC. A Piano LessonD. 根据文章第二段中“I arranged my fingers on the keys and studied the notes on the page for a moment. Then I frowned and concentrated to make the notes on the page match the finger movements.” . 七选五(2017黑龙江大庆市)Every single human being on this planet has a path and purpose to fulfill, whether they realize it or not. _1_List what you love and connect the dots. _2_ It may not make sense at first, but all of the things you enjoy doing are part of your path in one form or another, so grab a pen and a piece of paper and start writing.
