外研版高考英语一轮复习必修35Module5知能演练(附答案)+中学生作文:审视温存阅读限时练 阅读理解A(2018河南实验中学模拟)At the end of every year, Time picks the best 25 inventions that are “making the world better and smarter”. Here we have picked three of this years inventions that could be a part of your life in the near future. The levitating(悬浮的) light bulbThis special light bulb was invented by US. artist and scientist Simon Morris. He got the idea of making a light bulb float from hoverboards(悬浮滑板), which he used to dream of having as a kid.But the floating is not the most amazing part. The rejection force between the opposite ends of the magnets(磁铁), which were put in the bottom of the bulb and in the wooden base, does the job. Whats new here is a technology called induction(电磁感应). It allows the light bulb to get power from the base even they are not in contact.Shoes that tie themselvesTheyre not what you thinkshoelaces that tie themselves in the way we tie them. Instead, the new shoes have small motors that control their laces. When you step into them, your feet will hit a sensor(传感器) in the shoes and the motor will automatically tighten the laces. But the shoes werent just designed for lazy peoples needs. They could actually give athletes an advantage during competition. They are also useful for people who cannot move their arms or fingers easily. The no touch thermometer(体温计)Taking your body temperature usually means putting a thermometer in your armpits(腋窝) and staying still for minutes. It may be easy for you, but its an impossible task for little kids. Now, with the new thermometer, users can simply put it 2.5 centimeters from a patients forehead and press the button, and it can get reading in two seconds.【解题导语】每到年终岁尾,时代周刊都会评选出25项“让世界变得更加美好和智能”的最佳发明。 1The most amazing aspect of the levitating light bulb is that _Ait can floatBits inventor is more than a scientistCit makes use of the rejection force between the opposite ends of the magnetsDinduction allows it to get power even when unconnected with the baseD解析:细节理解题。 2How is the no touch thermometer different from other ones?AIt makes it easier to take kids temperature.BYou need wait two minutes for the reading.CYou dont need to press the button.DIt should be put in ones armpit.A解析:推理判断题。 故选A项。3In which part of a newspaper can you possibly read this text?AEducation.BSports.CScience. But getting older is not all bad for many people. Mounting evidence suggests aging may be a key to happiness. There is conflicting research on the subject, however, and experts say it may all boil down to this: attitude is everything.Older adults tend to be more optimistic and have a more positive outlook on life than their younger opposites who are under stress. The big question is why seniors are the happier. A recent study suggests one reason: older adults remember the past through happy memories. Aging can bring more cheer as people become more comfortable with themselves and their roles in society. The older adults said they were enjoying more time with their family, spending more time on hobbies and having greater financial security and did not have to work. But others are doubtful about the link between happiness and growing older.“The notion that those in old age are the happiest is misleading,” said Richard Easterlin, a professor of economics at the University of Southern California. “It is based on comparing people of different ages who are the same in terms of income, health, family life, ” Easterlin added. “When you take account of the fact that older people have lower income than the younger, are less healthy, and are more likely to be living alone, then you will find it hard to accept that they are happier.”In fact, scientists have found that as people age, their health declines and social networks disappear as their friends die, which can make the elderly less happy.Even if one does give in to ages dark side, health and happiness dont always go handinhand. Its all about attitude. Research by the University of Chicago suggests that attitude about life and happiness is partly shaped by the era in which a person was born. It turns out that individuals who adapt the best to changes also have the highest expected levels of happiness.Despite the conflicting findings about aging and happiness, the good news is that there doesnt appear to be a limit to how much happiness one can achieve in ones life. “Most people desire happiness,” Easterlin said. “To my knowledge, no one has identified a limit to attainable happiness.”【解题导语】本文主要讲述了幸福和变老以及态度之间的关系。8What does the last paragraph mainly tell us?AThe key factor to older adults happiness.BThere is a conflict between aging and happiness.CNo one can define the limit to happiness.DThe relationship between health and happiness.C解析:段落大意题。 C。9Why are some seniors happier according to some experts?AThey focus on what makes them feel good.BThey have their own circle of friends.CThey can enjoy social welfare services.DThey have better income after retirement.A解析:细节理解题。 A。10What can we learn from the passage?APeople of the same age have the same sense of happiness.BAttitude may play a very important role in happiness.CPeople who adapt the best to changes are more likely to be unhappy.DOlder adults who have more valuable life experiences are more optimistic.B解析:细节理解题。 B。11Whats the topic discussed in the passage?AWhether aging or attitude brings happiness.BWhy seniors adapt the best to changes in society.CWhat the limit to an elder persons happiness is.DHow older people feel compared with younger people.A解析:主旨大意题。 七选五(2018x圳模拟)Choosing the Right Path to Be a “Better” PersonLife is a constant exercise in selfimprovement. In the rush to achieve, the idea of being “better” can become lost sometimes. You may always wonder how to improve yourself and fulfill your dreams in an easier way. 1._Explore your talents.Everybody has some outstanding skills or interests. So its often necessary to be patient and try many things before you find one that suits you.2_For example, people loving adventure may not be interested in the quiet chess club, but someone who enjoys other quiet activities might be.Determining who you enjoy being around may help you know what youll enjoy.3_No matter how much money you make, you will not be happy if you spend your entire life doing something you hate. Its important to at least devote some of your time to what makes you happy. If youre particularly unhappy at your job, consider why.4._If you feel your job isnt meaningful, or isnt in line with your values, consider finding another job.Experience something new.Research has shown that when were in our comfort zone, we arent as productive as we are when we step just beyond it.5._Because of that, we may react slowly to our own positive experiences. Its important to have new experiences and interactions with others, even when those are a little scary.Doing so can help you achieve more.ADo what you love.BHere are some tips for you.CRegister in a class youre interested in.DHuman adapt very quickly to positive events.EIts possible that some changes may change your feeling.FSimilar types of people may be attracted to the same activities.GTry not to allow yourself to focus so much on a certain aspect of your life.【解题导语】人生就是不断自我提升的过程,有时我们急于取得成功,却迷失了自我。
