B: How would you find the bus stop?,A: Well, I know where it is. I use a cane/stick to find my way and to avoid obstacles. B: Ok, so maybe you could ask the driver to tell you where to get off? A: It would not be difficult to know where to get off, but when I change,buses I have to get on the right bus. B: You could ask someone whos waiting for the bus to help you. A: Yes, thats true. If I get someone to read the number of the bus for me. I would be able to get on the right one.,B: Sure. And then you could ask your friend to meet you at the bus stop and help you find the way to his/her apartment.,Situation 2: You are deaf. You are a very good football player and you want to join your schools football team. You would also like to learn English.,A: This person is deaf and wants to play football on the schools team. He probably couldnt do that. Its impossible to play football if you cant hear. B: Well, nothing is impossible. It would be difficult to follow the,game if you couldnt hear what your teammates said and the referees whistle, but if youre used to it, it could be done. A: I agree youre right. He would need help to know when the referee blows the whistle, so,maybe the teammates could give him a signal when that happens. B: Yes. And the teammates could use signs and body language to communicate with him. A: It hes a good player, he should be on the team. It doesnt matter,whether hes deaf, as long as we help each other. B: He also wants to learn English. A: Hmm, that would be difficult. How could he learn speaking and listening? B: Well, he would not be able to,speak and listen, but he could still learn how to read and write.
