Boys and girls!S: Morning ,teacher!T: What day is it today?S: Its / Today isT: What do you do on weekend?S: I do my homework.T: Do you have much homework?S: Yes, we do.T: Do you have enough time to do it?S: Sometimes we do, sometimes we dont.Step 2. Review1. Review the flashcards for Units 5 and 10.2. Hold up the flashcard for school. Cover it with a piece of blank paper so that the children can not see the picture. Remove the blank paper bit by bit. Ask, “Whats this?” until the children get, “Its a ( school ).”3. Repeat for the other flashcards.4. Take out the flashcards for Unit 5. Present each card and elicit the name from the children.5. put up the flashcards on the board. Tell the children they are going to these places one by one, and they need to invite more and more children to join them.6. At the beginning, point to the flashcard for post office and say to a child, “Lets go to the post office. / Shall we go to the post office?” Have the child respond with “OK.” or “Lets go.” Etc. then together with the child to invite other children.Step 3. Uncle Bookys storytime1. Have the children open their books at page 48. Tell them they are going to read a story about two children and a lost monkey.2. Point to the first picture and ask what they can see in it. Draw their attention to the facial expression of the monkey. Ask them to guess why the monkey is not happy. Repeat with the other pictures.3. Have the children read the story silently by themselves. The teacher walks around the classroom, providing helps where children need.4. Repeat the procedure with the other pictures.5. Play the tape straight through. Have the children point to the corresponding picture.6. Now point to the first sentence. Read the sentence aloud pointing each word in the speech bubble. Have the children repeat after you.6. Play the tape again, stopping after each picture. This time have the children repeat following the tape.Step 4. I spyThis game reviews the beginning sounds of the core vocabulary from Units 7 through 10.1. Show the flashcards of these Units.2. Tell the children they will play a game called I spy. Explain that you will secretly write down the English name for one of the flashcards and you want them to guess what it is. Tell the children that the only clue you will give them is the beginning letter of the objects English name.3. Have the children say, “Is it a ( rabbit )?” each time they make a guess. Answer only, “Yes, it is.” Or “No, it isnt.” For example, begin by saying, “I spy something beginning with the letter ( c ).” When a child guesses correctly, show him or her the piece of paper with the name cat written on it. Then write the name on the board.4. Repeat the procedure, choosing another flashcard for something with a different beginning letter.6. If the children appear confident in playing this game, allow a child to stand in your place and choose a flashcard. Have the child whisper the English name of the object to you so that you can write it down. Then have the child say, “I spy something beginning with the letter ( d ).” Then the child can answer “Yes, it is.” Or “No, it isnt.” in response to the other childrens questions.Step 5. extend Try to tell them another story about animals.Step 6.
