There are more boys than girls in the class and most of the students are outgoing and active. l There are 40 students in the class and they are equally divided into 10 groups.l The topic is about sports, which is close to our daily life. Students are familiar with the subject.l It is the first time for them to learn linking words in a systematical and organized way. l Students have learned about some simple, easy expressions about sports but havent mastered some high-class vocabulary about this subject.Teaching materiall Before writing, students have learned the text “The story of Atlanta” in the previous lesson, which is concerned with the sport “running” and the Olympic Games. This text helps students know more about the subject. l Besides, the writing task has provided some instructions for students to think about: how did you become interested in that sport? who is your favourite athlete? what do you do to improve your skill? Students are able to divert their thinking with the guidance.Teaching objectivesAfter this writing class, students are able to:1.
