To understand the conversation.Teaching points:1. Main points1) Key vocabulary: -dialogue, line, nurse, recite, role, row, servant, bit, play the role of, superb, impressed, front.2) Key structures: -Three hours is a long time to stay still. So they both decide to kill themselves.2. Difficult points: how to talk about things to do. Teaching method: PWP approachTeaching aids: Some flashcards, tape recorder, video picture etc.Teaching procedure:Step 1. Revision GreetingsCheck the homework. Step 2. Presentation 1. Work in pairs and look at the photo. Make students talk about what they can see. 2. Play the tape. Make the students listen and answer the questions. Use the words and expressions to help.Step 3. Listen and readListen to the tape and answer the question: “what play did they see?”Then listen to the tape the second time, choose the best answer. Listen again and have a check. Make students read the conversation carefully, te the sentences with their ownwords. The teacher has a check.Step 4. Pronunciation 1. Play the tape. Let the students listen to the students and repeat. Underline the words they expect the speaker to stress. 2. Then listen and check. As the students listen, say the passage aloud.Step 5. Speaking1. 2. Students work in 3. Make a list of advice about listening to real English. Its hard to understand every word, but students can try to guess the main ideas. Step 6. Practice1. Revision Revise the words and the structures in unit 1.Make students ask and answer questions about a play they have seen.Step 2. Pre-read The teacher asks the students look at the photos and say what type of entertainment or sport they can see. Make them think of other words which they can use to talk about the photo.Step 3. Reading1. Ask the students to read the passage the first time and answer the question “which paragraph describes what you can see in the photo?” Have a check.column in New York with notes. Ask the students to do the activity individually, and then check with a partner. Call back the answers from the whole class 3. Make students read the text carefully, answer the questions. Have a check. Explain if necessary.4. Make students look at the sentence. The underlined words suggest an opinion, and the rest are fact. Then make students look at those sentences on page 67 and underlined any words which suggest opinions. Explain important points in the text. Step 4. WritingMake students think about a town or city they know well. Be ready to write a passage about entertainment in their town or city.1. e the column in your town you in activity 3 with notes. 2.
