Multimedia devices Teaching procedure:Pre-taskTask1. Ask and answer the questions about the photos.1. Look at the photos on the screen. Ask the students some “Have you ever been to ” questions, and then give the real answers.2. Guide the students to make the following conversations:-Have you ever been to Mount Huang? No, I havent.-Have you ever been to the Great Wall? No, I havent.-Have you ever been to the Birds Nest in Beijing? No, never.-Have you ever been to Hong Kong? No, never.3. The teacher retells and summarizes the students answers saying “We have never been to Mount Huang, never been to the Great Wall, never been to the Birds Nest, never been to Hong Kong.” Meanwhile, give the students some encouragement by saying “If we work hard from now on, well have more chances to make a lot of money and to go there.”4. Lead-inT: Have you ever seen the cartoon movie Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck? They have become famous Disney characters. Have you heard of Disneyland? Have you ever been to Disneyland? This lesson we are going to learn something about Disneyland.5. PresentationLook at the screen and show a picture of an amusement park. Have you ever been to an amusement park? Whats in the amusement park? (Roller coaster, cruise, Ferris wheel 摩天轮,bumper car 碰碰车, tilt-a-whirl 旋转椅, haunted house 恐怖屋, merry-go-round 旋转木马)6. Show a picture of Disneyland and tell students that its an amusement park and also a theme park. The teacher says, “What does theme mean? What is a theme park? Now please scan the passage in 3a and find out the answer.”While-taskTask2. Read the article about a theme park.1. Scan the passage and find out what a theme park is.2. Show the answer on the screen and read through it all together.Answer: Disneyland is an amusement park, but we can also call it a theme park. It has all the normal attractions that you can find at an amusement park, but it also has a theme. The theme, of course, is Disney movies and Disney characters. For example, you can find a roller coaster in most amusement parks, but in Disneyland, the theme of the roller coaster is Disney characters. This means that you can find Disney characters all over the roller coaster.3. Read this article as quickly as possible. Circle the places, things, and activities you think are interesting; underline the ones you think are boring.4. If there is enough time left, read through the passage with students all together.5. Look at the screen and show a warm note: There are 5 Disney lands all over the world. Two of them are in the USA, one is in Japan, another is in France and the fifth is in Hong Kong.
