英语演讲稿范文：大学英语演讲稿集whatisrealbeauty?yanglingyuan本篇是96年湖南省第二届非英语专业大学生英语演讲比赛团体二等奖获奖者之一的演讲辞。其中引用正、反两方面的事例来论述“真正的美不在外表，而在内心”这一观点的方法值得学习与借鉴。itishumannaturethatallofusshouldbefondofbeauty.everybodywasbornwithaheartforbeauty.todayinchina,withtherisingofourlivingstandard,peoplesrequirementofbeautyhasbeenheightenedaccordingly.somepeoplesparenomoneyorenergyonbeautifulclothes,fashionablehairstyles,thedecorationoftheirhousesandeventheimprovementoftheirlooks.butitseemstome,allthesearemoreorlessconfinedtothebeautyinappearance,orrather,theoutwardbeauty.inmyopinion,weshouldntonlypayattentiontobeautifulappearanceandneglectthebeautificationofthemindandwhatweareaftershouldbetheperfectunityoftheoutwardbeautyandtheinnerbeauty.asweallknow,sofarasobjectsandanimalsareconcerned,thereisonlybeautifulappearancetobementioned,buttoushumanbeings,althoughtheoutwardbeautyreallymatters,theinnerbeautyismuchmoreimportant.thiswasconfirmedbyafamousrussianwriterinwordsmuchlikethis:apersonisnotlovelyforbeingbeautifulbutbeautifulforbeinglovely.here,idliketoquotetwotypicalinstancesandimsure,mydearfriends,fromthemyoullfindoutwhatrealbeautyis.recentlyilearnedfromtheradioanunpleasantincidentaboutawellknownsinger.sheisverycharmingwithasweetbeautifulvoiceandveryfamousforsingingthesong.devotionoflove.notlongago,shewasinvitedtozhejiangprovincetogiveperformance.themomentshewastoappearonthestage,shesuddenlyaskedformorereward.worsestill,afterherrequestwassatisfied,shedidntbegintosingatonce.instead,shetookhertimetocountallthemoneypiecebypiece.thusshekepttheaudiencewaitingforhalfanhour.sowhensheatlastshowedupandstartedtosingdevotionoflove,amanroseupfromhisseatandshoutedather,youdonthaveanydevotionoflove.youarenotqualifiedtosingthissong!hearingthis,thesingerstoppedsingingandbegantoshoutabuseswithherfingerpointedattheman.atthistimethewholeaudienceburstintoanuproar.howdisappointedherkeenlistenerswerewhentheylearnedthis!itisthesingerherselfwhospoiledherbeautifulimageintheeyesofothers.now,imingtoanothertruestory.itsaboutapoor,ordinarylookingoldwoman.shewasawidowwithoutanychildren,livingbarelyfromhandtomouthbypickingoddsandendsfromrubbishheaps.however,shetookinmorethantenhomelessorphanssuccessivelyandmanagedtobringthemup.everydayshelaboredfrommorningtillnight.inordertoearnasmuchmoneyaspossibletoraisethechildrenandtokeeptheminschool,sheevenwenttoahospitalregularlytosellherblood.shegotsoweakforthelossofbloodthatshesometimesfellinafaintonherwayhome.responsibilityisabadgeofhonourforyouth(96年“21世纪杯全国大学生英语演讲比赛”二等奖获得者，北京外国语大学徐义成)facingthisaudienceonthestage,ihavetheexcitingfeelingofparticipatinginthemarchofhistory,forwhatwearefacingtodayismorethanamerepetitionorcontest.itisanassemblyofsomeofchinasmosttalentedandmotivatedpeople,representativesofayoungergenerationthatarepreparingthemselvesfortheingofanewcentury.imgratefulthativebeengiventhisopportunity,atsuchahistoricmoment,tostandhereasaspokesmanofmygenerationandtotakeaseriouslookbackatthepast15years,acrucialperiodforeveryoneofusandforthisnationaswell.thoughitisonlywithinmypowertotellaboutmypersonalexperience,andonlyatinyfragmentofitatthat,itstillrepresents,ibelieve,therootofaspiritwhichhasbeenessentialtomeandtoallthepeoplebredbythepast15years.inmyelementaryyears,therewasalittlegirlintheclasswhoworkedveryhardbutsomehowcouldneverdosatisfactorilyinherlessons.theteacheraskedmetohelpher,anditwasobviousthatsheexpectedalotfromme.butasayoungboy,restless,thoughtless,ialwaystriedtoevadehersoastogetmoretimetoenjoymyself.onedaybeforethefinalexam,shecameuptomeandsaid,couldyoupleaseexplainthistome?iwantverymuchtodobetterthistime.istartedexplaining,andfinishedinahurry.pretendingnottonoticeherstillconfusedeyes,iranoffquickly.natsurprisingly,sheagaindidverybadlyintheexam.andtwomonthslater,atthebeginningofthenewsemester,wordcameofherdeathofbloodcancer.nooneeverknewaboutthelittletaskifailedtofulfill,buticouldntforgivemyself.isimplycouldntforgethereyes,whichseemtobeasking,whydidntyoudoalittlemoretohelpme,whenitwassoeasyforyou?whydidntyouunderstandalittlebetterthetrustplacedinyou,sothatiwouldnothavetoleavethisworldinsuchpainandregret?iwasabouteightornineyearsoldatthattime,butinawayitwastheverystartingpointofmylife,foribegantounderstandthewordresponsibilityandtolearntoalwaysdomydutiesfaithfullyanddevotedly,fortheimplicationsofthatsacredwordhasdawnedonme:themutualneedandtrustofpeople,theco-operationandinter-reliancewhicharetheveryfoundationofhumansociety.laterinmylife,icontinuedtoexperiencemanyfailures.butneveragaindidifeelthatregretwhichstruckmeatthedeathofthegirl,foritmakesmyheartsatisfiedtothinkthatihavealwaysdoneeverythinginmypowertofulfillmyresponsibilitiesasbestican.asigrewup,changedandimprovedbythisincidentandmanyothersimilarones,ibegantoperceivethechangestakingplacearoundmeandtofindthatsociety,inaway,wasinitsformativeyearslikemyself.newbuildings,newmoditiesandnewfashionsappeareveryday.newideas,newinformation,newtechnologies.peoplecantalkwitheachotherfromanycorneroftheearthinamatterofseconds.societyisbeingmorepetitive.wordslikeindividualityandcreativityaregettingmoreemphasisandmorepeoplearerewardedfortheirhardworkandefforts.suchistheerainwhichthisgeneration,growsandmatures.suchistheerainwhichthisgenerationwilltakeoverthenationfromourfathersandlearntorunit.yetinthemeantime,manyproblemsstillexist.welearnthatcrimestakeplaceinbroaddaylightwithcrowdsofpeoplelookingonandnotassisting.wehearthattherearestillabout1millionchildreninthiscountrywhocantevenaffordtogotoelementaryschoolswhileenormoussumsofmoneyarebeingsquanderedawayondinnerpartiesandluxurycars.webuyshoddymedicines,ormerelyworthlessjunkinthenameofmedicines,thataggravate,ratherthanalleviateourdiseasessincemoney,manypeoplebelieve,isthemostimportantthingintheworldthatmustbemade,evenattheexpenseofmoralityandresponsibility.suchanera,therefore,determinesthatweareagenerationwithakeenersenseofpetitionandefficiencyandagreaterreadinesstothinkcriticallyandactcreatively.suchanera,furthermore,demands,thatweareagenerationwithaclearperceptionofourhistoricalresponsibilityandanaggressivewilltotakeactionandsolvetheproblems.historyhaslongbeenpreparingthesequalitiesinthisgenerationanditisnowcallingusforwardtogivetestimonytoourpatriotismandheroismtowardsthisnationandallhumanity.standingherenow,ithinkofthepast15yearsofmylifeasanordinarystudent.probablyillbeanordinarymanfortherestofmylife.butthisdoesntdiscouragemeany,foriknowthatwithmysenseofresponsibilityanddevotedeffortstoalwaysstrive,forthebest,itsgoingtobeameaningfulandworthwhilelifethatiwillbeliving.standingherenow,ithinkofthepast15yearsofthisnation,whichhasachievedgreatnessthatinspiredmillionsofpeopleofmyage,mostofwhomwillnotattainfameorprestigeandonlyafewofwhomwillberememberedbyposterity.butthatdoesntdiscourageusany,becauseweknowthattheworldwatches,theworldlistens,theworldiswaitingtoseewherethisnationwillbeheadinginatimeofrichopportunitiesandfiercepetition.icanteverforgetthatlittlegirlinmyclasswhocouldnthadthesameopportunitiesasanyofusheretoenjoyawonderfullifetodayandahopefulworldtomorrow.itisthesacredresponsibilityofthisgenerationtofaceuptothechallengesofthenewcenturyandtodevoteoursweatandblood,ourwisdomandpassion,tothehistoriccauseofmakingthisnationagreaterandhappierlandforeveryoneofus.wearenotgoingtoevadethatresponsibility.wearegoingtoletpeopledown.andpeople,farandnear,willhearofus.frostwillbebroughttotheirbackbonesandtearstotheireyeswhenourstoriesaretoldandretold,soletusgoforth,myfellowmembersofthisluckilychosengeneration,andmeetthenewcenturyinvictoryandglory.knowingtheconsequencesofchoiceoverthepastspringfestival,igotinvolvedinafamilydispute.rightbeforeigothome,foursatellitechannelsofcctvwereaddedtothe14channelswehadalreadyhad.inprimetimeatnight,theyallhadinterestingshows.therefore,thefiveofus-myparents,mysistersandi-hadtoargueoverwhattowatch.finally,weagreedthatweshouldwatchthemostinterestingprogramme.ifwecouldagreewhatthatwas.however,allofusthererememberthatforalongtimeafterwehadtv,therewereonlyoneortwochannelsavailable.theincreaseinoptionsrevealsanimportantchangeinourlife:theabundanceofchoice.fifteenyearsagowealldressedinonestyleandinonecolour.today,weselectfromawidevarietyofdesignsandshades.iregainconfidencebylijun(李军青岛海洋大学)(2001年11月下旬，在上海举行的第七届“21世纪爱立信杯”英语演讲比赛华东地区比赛中获得第一名)专家点评:本演讲语言较流畅，从具体事件人手，将主题升华，催人奋进。ireceivedadevastatingblowtomyself-confidenceinthefirstinterviewofmycollegeyears.iappliedtobeahostinourstudentactingtroupeandfeltconfidentthatiwouldbeaccepted.butoneofthepanelmemberstoldme:youseeminadequateandyouarealittlevertically-challenged.mylifehasneverbeenthesamesince.iusedbiggerheelstoplementmyheightandpsychologicalmaneuversandtrickstohidemylackofconfidence.butnomatterhowharditriedtolookthepart,therewasstillsomethingmissing.aspresidentofenglishclub,iorga
