摘要 摘要 虽然人们普遍认为儿童学习外语要比成年人更具优势，但对于最佳外语学习 年龄人们仍持不同观点。本文研究年龄因素对英语学习者英语水平的影响。 作者用改进后的b u r s t a l l ( 1 9 7 4 ) 的英语水平测试方法，j o h n s o na n dn e w p o r t ( 1 9 8 9 ) 的数据分析方法，和不同的受试样本重新进行了他们的定量实证研究。 作者以关键期假说( 语言习得的最佳年龄是2 到1 2 岁，超出了这一年龄段， 语言学习就较之以前更为困难) 为理论框架，随机选取了6 9 5 名大学二年级学生 和2 1 8 名大学一年级学生，对他们的初始英语学习年龄( 幼儿园，小学一年级， 小学三，四年级，初中) 和英语水平之间的关系做了实证调查， 并对调查数据进 行了定量分析。 研究结果表明年龄因素对英语学习者的最终英语水平有很大影响。英语学习
